Abstract

Being independent becomes an essential aspect in self-development. As a mature individual, college students are faced the real struggles in nowadays society and there is a need to develop self-independent to survive. Likewise the learning process, the college students are required to gain high self-independence in order to optimize the learning outcome. Thus the need for a study of learning models that can improve student learning independence. Therefore, researchers conducted a study with the aim to determine the effectiveness of the application of the blended learning model of learning independence of students. The blended learning model used is a combination of direct instruction models with self-regulated learning strategies. The research method used by researchers is quasi experimental design with non-equivalen. The sample used was 24 students who are contracting a table tennis learning, where 12 experimental groups, and 12 control groups. The treatment used in the experimental group is by implementing blended learning learning namely the direct instruction and self-regulated learning models and the treatment of the control group without blanded learning or only the direct instruction learning model. Data analysis in this study used average testing with the help of SPSS version 22. The results showed that there were significant differences in learning independence in the experimental and control groups after treatment. In addition, it was found that the application of blended learning direct instruction and self-regulated learning had an influence on increasing student learning independence in learning table tennis games.
