Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pengadaan bahan ajar membaca BIPA dalam bentuk cetak yang belum bisa diakses secara luas, sehingga diperlukan inovasi bahan ajar membaca BIPA tingkat dasar yang dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan pemelajar serta dapat diakses secara luas. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti melakukan pengembangan terhadap bahan ajar membaca BIPA berbasis web bagi pemelajar tingkat dasar dengan mengedepankan model Hutchinson dan Waters dalam konteks budaya Indonesia. Pada model Hutchinson dan Waters terdapat empat komponen utama yaitu input, isi, fokus bahasa, dan latihan. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk memaparkan proses pengembangan serta implementasi bahan ajar dengan model Hutchinson dan Waters berbasis web yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan yakni dengan membuat profil pembelajaran, mendesain produk, serta melakukan pengembangan dan penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai dengan kategori baik terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan baik berdasarkan penilaian ahli dan respons pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahwa produk bahan ajar membaca yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini baik digunakan bagi pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar. Kata kunci: bahan ajar membaca, BIPA, model Hutchinson dan Waters This research is motivated by the need for innovation on elementary level BIPA reading teaching materials that can accommodate the needs of learners and improve the ability of learners to understand reading texts. Therefore, the researcher developed a web-based BIPA reading teaching material for elementary level learners by prioritizing the Hutchinson and Waters model in Indonesia cultural context. The purpose of this research is to describe the process of developing and implementing teaching materials using the web-based Hutchinson and Waters model that is suited to the needs of elementary level BIPA learners. The research method used is research and development. The stages of the research were namely by creating a learning profile, designing products, and conducting development and research. The measurement of the success of this research lies in the assessment given by the expert and the results of the trial which are an illustration of the product's use for the user. Based on the research that has been conducted, the developed teaching materials obtained scores which categorized as good based on expert judgment, user responses, and calculations on product usability. Based on these results it can be concluded that the developed reading teaching materials in this research is appropriate to be used in reading learning for BIPA learners at the elementary level.
