Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh keberadaan para pustakawan sekolah yang pada saat ini telah mengelola perpustakaan sekolah, keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh pustakawan sekolah sehingga timbul ketertarikan bagi peneliti untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi komunitas sekolah tentang keterampilan pustakawan sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada komunitas sekolah yang terdiri dari SMA Negeri 1 Bandung dan SMA Negeri 6 Bandung yang masing-masing perpustakaan sekolahnya telah dikelola oleh pustakawan sekolah. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 90 orang yang terdiri dari komunitas sekolah yaitu murid, guru, dan staf. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner tertutup dan kuesioner terbuka berbentuk angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan skala persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persepsi komunitas sekolah tentang keterampilan pustakawan sekolah dinilai cukup baik. Hal tersebut menujukkan bahwa menurut persepsi komunitas sekolah dalam keterampilan wawasan kependidikan, keterampilan literasi, keterampilan teknologi informasi, dan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi sudah cukup dimiliki oleh pustakawan sekolah, namun tetap perlu adanya pengembangan atau peningkatan dari empat keterampilan bagi pustakawan sekolah tersebut. Kata Kunci: Komunitas Sekolah, Keterampilan, Pustakawan sekolah. ------ The study is motivated by the existence of school librarians who manage the school library, the skills possessed by the school librarian intrigued researcher to find out the school communities’ perceptions towards school librarians’ skills. The study was conducted to a couple of school communities consisting of SMA Negeri 1 Bandung and SMA Negeri 6 Bandung, of which each of them has a school library managed by school librarians. The research methodology used in the study is a survey method with a quantitative approach. The sample of the study is 90 people consisting of the school community member, namely students, teachers, and staff. Closed-ended and open-ended inquiry questionnaires were used as the techniques to collect the data. The researcher analyzed the data using percentage scale technique. The results show that the perceptions of the school communities towards the skills of school librarians is considered quite well. This shows that according to the perceptions of the school communities on the educational insight skills, the literacy skills, the information technology skills, and the communication and collaboration skills are adequately owned by school librarians, but there is still a need for development and improvement of those four skills of the school librarians.
