Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan mulai menurunnya rasa kebangsaan, paham kebangsaan, dan semangat kebangsaan pada generasi muda (mahasiswa) yang ditandai dengan: lunturnya nilai-nilai luhur dalam praktik kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara, serta identitas nasional yang memudar dikalangan mahasiswa. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana potret wawasan kebangsaan mahasiswa saat ini, relevansi Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dengan kebutuhan penguatan wawasan kebangsaan mahasiswa, dan prospek penguatan wawasan kebangsaan melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Berbagai teknik pengumpulan data digunakan dalam menghimpun data yang dibutuhkan yaitu teknik, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari para dosen PKn MKU tiap fakultas, dan para mahasiswa dari berbagai disiplin ilmu di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (UNTAG) Cirebon. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa potret wawasan kebangsaan mahasiswa dapat diklasifikasi dari pemahamannya terhadap unsur-unsur wawasan kebangsaan seperti wawasan tentang sejarah bangsa Indonesia, Pancasila, NKRI, dan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Relevansi Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan sebagai wahana penguatan wawasan kebangsaan dapat ditinjau dari silabus dan RPS yang terdiri atas rumusan tujuan, materi, metode, media dan sumber yang sudah mengarah pada penguatan wawasan kebangsaan mahasiswa. Prospek penguatan wawasan kebangsaan mahasiswa melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan sangat ditentukan oleh pandangan bangsa Indonesia, eksistensi konstitusi negara, dan kebutuhan tuntutan dinamika perkembangan bangsa.;---This research is motivated by problems starting from the decline of nationality, nationalism, and the spirit of nationality in the young people (students) indication by: the decline of the main values in the practice of life in the community, and the reduced national identity and began to disappear among students. The problem studied in this research is how the portrait of student's current nationality insight, the relevance of civic education with the needs to strengthen students' national insight, and prospect of strengthening national insights through Civic Education. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. Various data techniques used in assemble the required data that is, observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The subjects in this research consisted of MKU Civics lecturers in each faculty, and students from various disciplines at the University of 17 August 1945 (UNTAG) Cirebon. The research results reveal that portrait of the national insights student can be classified on their understanding of the elements of such nationality insight into the history of the nation of Indonesia, Pancasila, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The relevance of Civic Education as a vehicle for strengthening national insight that leads to the strengthening of national insight can be viewed from the syllabus and RPS consisting of the formulation of objectives, materials, methods, media and sources that have led to the strengthening of national Student insights. The prospect of strengthening students' nationality insight through Civic Education is determined by the views of Indonesia state, the existence of the state constitution, and the demands of the dynamics of the nation's development.
