Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media audio visual pada pembelajaran saxophone alto tingkat dasar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik triangulasi yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa spesialisasi saxophone tingkat dasar di Departemen Pendidikan Musik UPI sebanyak lima orang. Ada tiga tahap proses pembelajaran yaitu lesson satu, lesson dua, dan lesson tiga. Ditemukan respon mahasiswa baik, melalui media pembelajaran ini dapat tercapai kemampuan mahasiswa bermain saxophone alto tingkat dasar karena pada prosesnya dilakukan interaktif, inspiratif, menyenangkan dan memotivasi untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran saxophone. Implikasi penggunaan media audio visual berupa video tutorial dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif metode pengajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengstimulus kemampuan mahasiswa dalam bermain saxophone alto tingkat dasar;--This study describes the response of students to the use of audio-visual media in basic saxophone alto learning. This research method uses qualitative methods with triangulation techniques namely observation, interviews and documentation. The source of data in this study were five basic saxophone specialist students at the Department of Music Education at UPI. There are three learning processes namely lesson one, lesson two, and lesson three. Obtained by good student responses, through this learning media can support students' ability to play saxophone alto elementary level because the process is interactive, inspiring, fun and motivating to actively support saxophone learning. The implication of using audio visual media in the form of video tutorials can be an alternative method that can be used to stimulate students' abilities in playing saxophone as well as at the elementary level.
