Abstract

Tari Guel adalah salah satu pertunjukan seni tari yang berasal dari masyarakat suku Gayo Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendokumentasikan secara tertulis mengenai perubahan bentuk pertunjukan Tari Guel hingga menjadi Tari Munalo. Penelitian ini berangkat dari ketertarikan peneliti menjadikan Tari Guel sebagai fokus penelitian karena dianggap unik dan berbeda dari pertunjukan tari yang ada pada masyarakat Aceh antara lain latar belakang yang menjadi ide garapan Tari Guel sebagai identitas kenangan kejayaan masyarakat Gayo masa kerajaan Linge, berbeda seperti pertunjukan tari di Aceh, pada umumnya bertujuan untuk mendakwahkan ajaran Islam seperti Tari Seudati dan Tari Laweut. Peneliti menekankan analisis pertunjukan Tari Guel pada perubahan bentuk dan struktur penyajian, baik pada bentuk tekstual dan kontekstual. Paradigma yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis dan pendekatan multidisiplin. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bentuk pertunjukan Tari Guel merupakan tari berpasangan yang mengalami perubahan menjadi Tari Munalo dengan bentuk tari berkelompok. Tari Guel berkembang di kalangan masyarakat Gayo dalam kategori bangsawan disebut elite culture dan Tari Munalo berkembang di kalangan masyarakat Aceh lainnya disebut populer art. ;--Guel dance is one of the dance performances that comes from the Gayo tribe of Central Aceh District. The purpose of this study is to document in writing about the transformation of the Guel dance performance to the Munalo Dance. This research departs from the interest of researchers to make Guel Dance as the focus of research because it is considered unique and different from the dance performances that exist in the people of Aceh, among others, the background that became the idea of Guel Dance as the identity of the glorious memories of the Gayo people of the Linge Empire, as different dance performances in Aceh, in general aims to preach Islamic teachings such as Seudati Dance and Laweut Dance. Researchers emphasize the analysis of Guel Dance performances on changes in form and structure of presentation, both in textual and contextual form. The paradigm used is qualitative with descriptive method of analysis and multidisciplinary approach. The results of this study show that the form of Guel dance performance is a paired dance that changed into Munalo Dance with a form of group dance. Guel dance develops among Gayo people in nobility category called elite culture and Dance Munalo develops among other Acehnese society called popular art.
