Abstract

Kompetensi yang harus dimiliki seorang guru untuk menunjang pekerjaannya meliputi kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi profesional, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi kepribadian. Observasi yang dilakukan penulis di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung menemukan beberapa guru yang terindikasi kurang cakap dalam menguasai kompetensi kepribadian dan tingkat motivasi belajar peserta didik yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh persepsi peserta didik tentang kompetensi kepribadian guru terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode ex post facto. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang jumlah respondennya sebanyak 125 peserta didik yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat persepsi tentang kepribadian guru masuk dalam kategori rendah dengan persentase sebesar 36%. Motivasi peserta didik berada dalam kategori sedang dengan persentase 66,4%. Pengaruh persepsi peserta didik tentang kepribadian guru terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik menunjukkan nilai positif dan signifikan dengan nilai koefisien determinasi yang menunjukkan besar hubungan antara keduanya sebesar 13,6 %. Temuan dari penelitian ini diharapkan bisa menjadi acuan untuk tindakan yang akan dilakukan pihak sekolah terhadap peserta didik maupun guru berdasarkan kondisi tersebut. ..... In accordance with the observation results that was conducted in SMK Negeri 8 Bandung, some of teachers were indicated poorly mastering personality competencies, and the level of students’ learning motivation was decreasing. This study aimed to discover the influece of students’ response in regard to teachers’ personality competencies towards students’ learning motivation in SMK Negeri 8 Bandung. The method used in this research was ex post facto. This research employed questionare instrument for 125 students as the respondents, applying purposive sampling technique. Data analysis technique was simple regression test. The results of research in the level of students’ response in regard to teacher's personality was classified into low category, showing numbers of 36%. Students’ learning motivation was at medium category with numbers of 66.4%. The influence of students’ response in regard to teacher’s personality towards students’ learning motivation indicated positive and significant value. Coefficint determination that was used to quantify numbers of their influence was 13.6%. The results of this research are expected to be a reference for actions that will be done the school to students and teachers based on these conditions.
