Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis serta self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran collaborative problem solving (CPS) dan pembelajaran konvensional (PK) ditinjau secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis (KAM) siswa (tinggi, sedang dan rendah). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent pretest and posttest control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 31 siswa kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: a) secara keseluruhan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; b) ditinjau dari KAM (tinggi, sedang dan rendah) peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada kelompok KAM tinggi dan rendah yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan pada siswa kelompok KAM sedang yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; c) secara keseluruhan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; d) ditinjau dari KAM (tinggi, sedang dan rendah) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada kelompok KAM tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan siswa pada kelompok KAM sedang dan rendah yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; e) self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran CPS lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional.;---This research aims to analyze the students’ enhancement in mathematical repesentation ability, mathematical commuication ability and students’ self-efficacy who obtained collaborative problem solvimg (CPS) learning and conventional learning in term of overall and prior mathematical ability (PMA). This research is devoted to analyze the enhancement between overall learning and PMA students’ mathematical repesentation ability, mathematical commuication ability and students’ self-efficacy. The research method used is quasi-experiment with nonequivalent pretest and posttest control group design. The sample were 32 students grade X MIA 1 as an experimental class and 31 students grade X MIA 2 as a control class. The results of this research show that: a) overall, the enhancement of students’ mathematical representation ability who obtained CPS learning is significantly higher than those who obtained conventional learning; b) the enhancement of students’ mathematical representation ability who obtained CPS learning is not significantly higher than those who obtained conventional learning based on high and low PMA, whereas on medium PMA students who obtained CPS learning is significantly higher than those who obtained conventional learning; c) overall, the enhancement of students’ mathematical communication ability who obtained CPS learning is significantly higher than students who obtained conventional learning; d) the enhancement of students’ mathematical communication ability who obtained CPS learning is significantly higher than those who obtained conventional learning based on medium and low PMA, whereas on high PMA students who obtained CPS learning is not significantly higher than those who obtained conventional learning; e) Students’ self-efficacy who obtained CPS learning is significantly better than students who obtained conventional learning.
