Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari fakta bahwa belum dimanfaatkannya situs bersejarah Candi Dieng di Kabupaten Wonosobo, Jawa Tengah sebagai sumber belajar sejarah. Peneliti beranggapan bahwa apabila situs tersebut dimanfaatkan maka pembelajaran sejarah akan lebih mendekatkan siswa pada lingkungannya, bahkan menjadikan siswa sebagai pelaku sejarah pada zamannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Historical Comprehension siswa melalui penggunaan situs Candi Dieng sebagai sumber belajar sejarah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan berkolaborasi dengan guru mitra di SMA Negeri 1 Wonosobo. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Pada pelaksanaannya pembelajaran sejarah dengan menggunakan situs Candi Dieng dibagi menjadi dua siklus. Siklus pertama untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa dan siklus kedua adalah penerapan dari pengetahuan yang didapat dari siklus pertama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitan, diketahui bahwa proses pembelajaran sejarah melalui situs Candi Dieng dapat meningkatkan ketrampilan Historical Comprehension siswa kelas X IPS 1. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan siswa yang telah mampu menginterpretasi arti harfiah Candi Dieng menggunakan bahasa sendiri dan siswa juga mampu memahami secara keseluruhan sejarah dari situs yang ada di kawasan Dieng. Dengan adanya pemahaman sejarah tersebut siswa telah memiliki kesadaran untuk turut menjaga kelestarian situs Candi Dieng.---- The present research was inspired by the fact that Dieng’s Temple sites have never been explored as history learning resources. The researcher predicted that if the historical sites were used as learning resources, the students would understand their surrounding historical sites better. They would even feel as if they were involved in the history. The present research aims at improving the students’ historical comprehension skill by using Dieng’s Temple historical sites as the learning resources. The present research employs action research design and collaborates with host teachers in Wonosobo 1 Senior High School. The data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. During the implementation, the history learning activity was divided into two cycles. In the first cycle, the students were given basic knowledge about the activity and the sites. In the second cycle, the knowledge from the first cycle was applied. From the data, it was found that by using Dieng’s Temple Site as the learning resources, the Social X-1 students’ historical comprehension skill was improved. The finding was supported by the fact that the students were able to understand the history of the sites in Dieng area comprehensively, as well as to rephrase the information about Dieng’s Temple. In addition, they have better awareness in preserving the Dieng’s Temple sites.
