Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) mendeskripsikan struktur cerita dari novel Negeri Awan Merah dan Alice di Negeri Ajaib; 2) mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam Negeri Awan Merah dan Alice di Negeri Ajaib; 3) mendeskripsikan persamaan dan perbedaan yang terdapat dalam novel Negeri Awan Merah dan Alice di Negeri Ajaib; dan 4) mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan hasil kajian bandingan novel Negeri Awan Merah dan Alice di Negeri Ajaib sebagai bahan ajar teks cerita fantasi di SMP. Sementara itu, melalui paradigma penelitian kualitatif, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskripstif analisis komparatif dengan sumber data novel Negeri Awan Merah dan Alice di Negeri Ajaib. Berkait dengan kerja praktik sastra, maka novel ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori struktur faktual cerita menurut Robert Stanton, nilai karakter yang bersumber dari Konsep dan Pedoman Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter yang disusun oleh tim Kemendikbud, dan format penelaahan buku pengayaan yang diadaptasi dari Kusmana (2011). Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa, 1) struktur kedua novel adalah pengaluran linear, novel Negeri Awan Merah berjumlah 81 sekuen, 20 fungsi utama dan 20 tokoh, sedangkan Alice di Negeri Ajaib memiliki 114 sekuen, 38 fungsi utama dan 11 tokoh; 2) terdapat 4 nilai karakter dalam novel Negeri Awan Merah dan 3 nilai karakter dalam novel Alice di Negeri Ajaib; 3) terdapat persamaan dari segi tokoh dan penokohan, alur, tema, dan sudut pandang sedangkan perbedaannya terletak pada bahasa yang digunakan oleh masing-masing novel; dan 4) bahan ajar cerita fantasi berhasil disusun dengan memanfaatkan hasil temuan dan pembahasan dari kedua novel tersebut berupa buku pengayaan pengetahuan untuk tingkat SMP.------- The purposes of this study are 1) to describe the story structure of the novel Negeri Awan Merah and Alice in Wonderland; 2) to describe the values of the characters contained in the novel Negeri Awan Merah and Alice in Wonderland; 3) to describe the similarities and differences found in the novel Negeri Awan Merah and Alice in Wonderland; and 4) to describe the use of the results of study comparing novel Negeri Awan Merah and Alice in Wonderland as a teaching material of fantasy stories text in junior high school. Meanwhile, through qualitative research paradigm, this research was conducted by using descriptive method of comparative analysis with source of novel data of Negeri Awan Merah and Alice in Wonderland. In relation to the work of comparative literary practice, the novel is analyzed by using the factual theory according to Robert Stanton and character values derived from the Concept and Guidelines for Strengthening Character Education, prepared by the Kemendikbud team. The results of this study form, 1) the structure of the two novels is linear distribution, the novel Negeri Awan Merah totaling 81 sequences, 20 main functions and 20 characters, while Alice in Wonderland has 114 sequences, 38 main functions and 11 characters; 2) there are 4 character values in the novel Negeri Awan Merah and 3 character values in the novel Alice in Wonderland; 3) there are similarities in terms of characters and characterizations, plots, themes, and point of view while the difference lies in the language used by each novel; and 4) fantasy storytelling material successfully compiled by utilizing the findings and discussion of the two novels in the form of knowledge enrichment book for junior high school level.
