Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh peningkatan perilaku narsisme yang terjadi seiring dengan meningkatnya penggunaan jejaring sosial Instagram pada remaja, akibat dari kurangnya kontrol diri. Penelitian bertujuan untuk memperoleh: (1) gambaran umum kontrol diri remaja pengguna Instagram; (2) gambaran umum perilaku narsisme remaja pengguna Instagram; dan (3) kontribusi kontrol diri terhadap perilaku narsisme remaja pengguna Instagram di Kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Lembang Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik yang memiliki account Instagram dengan durasi menggunakan Instagram lebih dari empat jam per-hari dan frekuensi menggunakan Instagram lebih dari lima kali dalam satu minggu berjumlah 313 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) kontrol diri peserta didik umumnya seimbang namun cenderung tinggi; (2) perilaku narsisme peserta didik pengguna Instagram cenderung tinggi; dan (3) Keragaman skor perilaku narsisme ditentukan oleh skor kontrol diri sebesar -0,530. Kenaikan satu skor pada kontrol diri akan menurunkan 0,530 perilaku narsisme, dan kenaikan satu skor pada perilaku narsisme akan menurunkan 0,530 kontrol diri.---- The research is motivated by the growing narcissism behavior that happens along with the use of Instagram social networking in adolescence as a result of the lack of self control. The study aims to obtain: (1) overview of self-control of the teenagers of Instagram users; (2) overview of the behavior of adolescent narcissists of Instagram users; and (3) contribution of self control to narcissism behavior of adolence Instagram users in Class XI SMA Negeri 1 Lembang Academic Year 2017/2018. The approach that was used in this research is quantitative approach where the research method is correlational method. The population of the research was the learners who have an account with Instagram duration using Instagram for more than four hours per-day and frequency using Instagram more than five times in one week totaled 313 learners. The results showed: (1) self control learners generally balanced Instagram users, but tend to be high; (2) the behavior of user Instagram learners narcissism tend to be high; and (3) the diversity of narcissistic behavior scores is determined by a self-control score of -0.530. The increase of one level in self-control will fall 0.530 from narcissistic behavior, and the increase of one value in narcissistic behavior will decrease by 0.530 reversal.
