Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui perbandingan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP yang menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning melalui model numbered heads together dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran secara konvensional. (2) untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning melalui model pembelajaran numbered heads together untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Lembang tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa dari dua kelas pada sekolah tersebut, yang mana satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning melalui model numbered heads together dan kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran secara konvensional. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, angket, lembar observasi, dan jurnal harian. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning melalui model numbered heads together lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajara secara konvensional. (2) siswa memberikan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning melalui model numbered heads together;--- The background of this research was the lack of mathematical problem solving skills. The aims of this research was (1) to compare the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills on junior high school students using contextual teaching and learning approach through numbered heads together model and students that get conventional learning, (2) to determine the students attitude toward contextual teaching and learning approach through numbered head together model to improve the mathematical problem solving skills on junior high school students. The method of this research was quasi experiment. The population of this research was all 7th grade students at one of junior high school in Lembang on 2015/2016 academic year and the sample in this research were two classes from that school, one class as the experiment class and the other as the control class. The experiment class using contextual teaching and learning approach through numbered head together model and the control class with conventional learning. The instrument of this research was obtain from mathematical problem solving skills test, questionnaire, observation sheet and daily journals. The result of this research showed that (1) the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills students who learned contextual teaching and learning approach through numbered head together model is higher than student who learned conventional learning, (2) student give positive attitude toward contextual teaching and learning approach through numbered head together model to enhance the mathematical problem solving skills on junior high school students
