Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah merupakan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi tantangan abad 21. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan tersebut sangat penting untuk dilatihkan kepada para siswa. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang pengaruh penerapan Higher Order Thinking Laboratory (HOT Lab) terhadap capaian keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah dan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa SMA pada materi hukum Hooke. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA di salah satu SMA di kota Sukabumi tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan teknik sampling acak kelas terdiri atas kelas kontrol sebanyak 31 orang siswa yang melaksanakan aktivitas praktikum verifikasi dan kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 30 orang siswa yang melaksanakan desain HOT Lab. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari soal keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah materi hukum Hooke serta lembar observasi keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan capaian keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini juga menemukan hasil bahwa kedua kelas mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dalam kategori sedang dimana peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen secara signifikan lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan desain HOT Lab memberikan pengaruh yang kuat terhadap capaian keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah dan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa dibandingkan penerapan desain praktikum verifikasi;--- Creative thinking and scientific communication are the skills needed to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Therefore, these skills are very important to be trained to the students. This research is intended to get an idea about the effect of Higher Order Thinking Laboratory (HOT Lab) application to the achievement of scientific communication skill and improvement of creative thinking skill of high school student on Hooke's legal material. The research method used is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the research is the students of class XI MIPA in one of high school in Sukabumi city in the academic year 2017/2018. The sample was chosen by random sampling technique consisting of control class as many as 31 students who carry out verification practice activity and experiment group as many as 30 students who implement HOT Lab design. The research instrument used consisted of the problem of creative thinking skill and scientific communication skill of Hooke's legal material and observation sheet of scientific communication skill. The results showed that students' scientific communication skills achievement in experiment class is higher than control class. The study also found results that both classes experienced improved creative thinking skills in the moderate category where the increase in the experimental class was significantly higher than the control class. It can be concluded that the application of HOT Lab design gives a strong influence to the achievement of scientific communication skill and improvement of students' creative thinking skill compared to the implementation of verification practice design.
