Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan peneliti di kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 44 Bandung mengenai rendahnya karakter green behaviour peserta didik. Khusunya dalam berperilaku ramah lingkungan serta kepedulian peserta didik terhadap lingkungan. Hal ini terilhat dari kondisi kelas yang terlihat kotor masih, banyaknya sampah-sampah plastik dan potongan kertas yang berserakan di sekitar kelas, masih banyaknya peserta didik yang membeli air kemasan dibandingkan dengan membawa botol minum isi ulang dari rumah. Melihat keadaan tersebut maka perlu adanya suatu pembelajaran IPS yang menunjukan kepedulian akan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perbaikan pembelajaran dengan peningkatan karakter green behaviour peserta didik melalui model pembelajaran pelayanan. Dalam mempraktikannya peserta didik diberikan pendidikan nilai yaitu moral knowing, moral feeling dan moral action. Melalui pembelajaran tersebut, peserta didik dapat mengenal permasalahan lingkungan yang timbul sebagai akibat dari ketidakpedulian terhadap lingkungan, memahami dengan baik dan memiliki emapati sehingga timbul kesadaran dalam diri peserta didik untuk mengembangkan perilaku yang peduli terhadap lingkungan sehingga karakter green behaviour peserta didik dapat meningkat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu model Elliot yang setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tiga tindakan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni, observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara, angket, dokumen. Setelah melalui tiga siklus dengan sembilan kali tindakan, maka pencapaian tujuan yang diharapkan pada akhirnya tergambar pada perubahan-perubahan perilaku yang terjadi pada diri peserta didik berkenaan dengan kesadaran lingkungan, baik pada aspek pengetahuan (moral knowing), perasaan moral (moral feeling) maupun tindakan moral (moral action). Sehingga dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa dengan model pembelajaran pelayanan (service learning) dapat meningkatkan karakter green behaviour peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan rekomendasi untuk pihak sekolah, guru, dan peserta didik untuk mengembangkan pembelajaran IPS yang bermakna dan peduli terhadap lingkungan.;---This research is motivated by the findings of researchers in class VIII E SMP Negeri 44 Bandung about the low of students’ green behavior character especially in behaving environmentally friendly as well as students' care for the environment. This was seen from the class conditions that looked still dirty, the number of plastic debris and paper pieces scattered around the classroom, there are still many students who buy bottled water compared with bringing refillable bottles from home. Looking at these circumstances it is necessary to have a Social Science lesson which shows concern for the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to improve learning by improving the students’ character of green behavior through service learning model. In putting it into practice, the students are given education values which are moral knowing, moral feeling and moral action. Through the learning, students can recognize environmental problems that arise as a result of environmental ignorance, understand well and have emphaty which arise awareness of students to develop behavior that care about the environment, so that the character of green behavior of students can increase. The research method used is the Elliot model which each cycle consists of three actions. Data collection techniques used in this study: observation, field notes, interviews, questionnaires, and documents. After going through three cycles with nine actions, the achievement of the expected goals is ultimately reflected in the behavioral changes that occur in the students regarding environmental awareness, in all of the aspects of knowledge, moral knowing, moral feeling and moral actions. Thus, it can be said that with the model of service learning can improve the character of green behavior of students’.The results of this study can be recommended for the school, teachers, and students to develop learning Social Science lesson meaningful and care about the environment.
