Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan komunikasi merupakan keterampilan yang sangat dibutuhkan di abad ke-21. Oleh karena itu, melatihkan dan mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan komunikasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran fisika sangatlah penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan capaian keterampilan komunikasi siswa melalui praktikum dengan desain higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) dibandingkan siswa yang praktikum dengan desain verification virtual lab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 70 orang siswa kelas XII salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat pada Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Sebanyak 35 orang siswa dari kelas eksperimen yang melakukan praktikum dengan desain higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) dan 35 orang siswa dari kelas kontrol yang melakukan praktikum dengan desain verification virtual lab. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan komunikasi berbentuk uraian, serta lembar penilaian keterampilan komunikasi dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan praktikum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan desain higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan mengoptimalkan capaian keterampilan komunikasi siswa lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan desain verification virtual lab.;---Creative thinking skill is one skill that is very needed in the 21st century. Therefore, development of creative thinking skills through physics teaching and learning is important. This study aims to get description about the improvement of creative thinking and communication skills through laboratory activity by using higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) design compare to students who did verification virtual lab design. This study used a quasi experiment method with pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study are 70 students of XII grade in one of public high school in Bandung Barat District at 2017/2018 study year. 35 students of experimental group did laboratory activity with higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) design whereas 35 of control group did laboratory activity by using verification virtual lab design. Data collection was done by using creative thinking and communications test in the form of essay, as well as scoring rubric of communications skills and observe the implementation of laboratory activity used. The results show that the implementation of higher order thinking virtual laboratory (HOTVL) design was proven to improve creative thinking skills and optimize communication skills enhancement higher compare to those in verification virtual lab design.
