Abstract

Penelitian ini
dilatarbelakangi bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis adalah
salah satu kemampuan yang penting agar mampu memecahkan masalah matematisi.
Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan
pemahaman konsep matematis dengan
suatu model pembelajaran yang memiliki struktur
pembelajaran yang sistematis dan disukai oleh siswa.
Group Investigation
merupakan
suatu pembelajaran yang sistematis dengan enam tahap yang sederhana. Pembelajaran ini
kemudian diimplementasikan kepada siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di
Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif
dengan kuasi eksperimen dan kualitatif dengan teknik penilaian menggunakan angket
siswa. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan dua
kelas yang merupakan kelas eksperimen
yang menerapkan
group investigation
dan kelas kontrol yang menerapkan pembelajaran
konvensional. Materi yang dibahas adalah materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar. Berdasarkan
hasil penelitian, diperoleh bahwa: 1)
peningkatkan
kemampuan pemahaman konsep
matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran

Investigation
lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional
dan
kualitas peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa
untuk kelas
eksperimen tergolong tinggi, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol tergolong rendah;
2) pada
umumnya siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran dengan model
pembelajaran
Group Investigation. Selanjutnya bahan ajar dengan model pembelajaran
Group Investigation
yang telah dikembangkan ini dapat diterapkan ataupun
dikembangkan kembali untuk penelitian selanjutnya.

This research is background is the ability
of understanding the concept of mathematics is
one of the important ability to be able to solve mathematical problems. Based on this, this
research is intended to improve the ability of understanding mathematical concepts with a
model of learning that has
a systematic learning structure and interest by students. Group
Investigation is a learning that with six simple steps. This learning is then implemented to
grade VIII students in one of the State Junior High School in Bandung. The research
method used in
this research is quantitative with quasi experiment and qualitative with
technique of appraisal using student questionnaire. The design of this study uses two
classes which are experimental classes that employ investigative groups and control
classes that
apply conventional learning. The material discussed is the material of
Building a Flat Space Room. Based on the results of the research, 1)
increased
ability to
understand the mathematical concepts of students who acquired the learning with the
Investigation Group model is better than the students who received conventional learning
and the quality of the students' understanding of mathematical concepts for the
experimental class is high, while the control class is low;
2) on the generation of students
give a positive response to learning with Group Investigation learning model.
Furthermore, teaching materials with the Group Investigation study model that has been
developed can be used or developed again for further research.
