Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan materi sifat bahan pada buku teks yang digunakan pada sebagian besar SMP/ MTs Negeri di Kota Bandung berdasarkan kriteria tahap seleksi dari 4S TMD. Terdapat tiga kriteria pada tahap seleksi dari 4S TMD, yaitu (1) kesesuaian dengan kurikulum, (2) kebenaran konsep, dan (3) penanaman nilai-nilai. Berdasarkan kriteria pertama diketahui bahwa objek penelitian belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum ditinjau dari dua aspek, yaitu aspek keluasan materi dan kedalaman konsep. Ditinjau dari aspek keluasan materi, dari 10 konsep yang dituntut kurikulum, terdapat 6 konsep yang tidak termuat dalam materi tersebut sehingga keluasannya dinyatakan kurang. Sementara itu, ditinjau dari segi kedalaman konsep, dari 4 konsep yang keluasannya sesuai, terdapat dua konsep yang dinyatakan sesuai dan dua konsep yang dinyatakan kurang dalam. Selanjutnya berdasarkan kriteria kedua, diketahui keempat konsep tersebut benar secara keilmuan berdasarkan referensi buku-buku teks internasional. Berdasarkan kriteria terakhir, diketahui bahwa terdapat tiga nilai yang ditanamkan pada materi tersebut, yaitu nilai rasa ingin tahu, nilai jujur, dan nilai disiplin, Kata kunci: Buku teks, sifat bahan, 4S TMD, This study aims to determine the feasibility of material properties in textbooks used in most SMP / MTs in Bandung based on the selection stage criteria of 4S TMD. There are three criteria at the selection stage of 4S TMD, namely (1) conformity with the curriculum, (2) the correctness of the concept, and (3) the planting of values. Based on the first criterion is known that the object of research has not been fully in accordance with the demands of the curriculum in terms of two aspects, the aspects of the breadth of the material and the depth of the concept. Judging from the broad aspect of the material, from 10 concepts of the curriculum, there are 6 concept that are not contained in the material so that its extent is declared less. Meanwhile, in terms of the depth of the concept, of the 4 concepts that broadly appropriate, there are two concepts that are stated in accordance and two concepts that are stated less deeply. Furthermore, based on the second criterion, it is known that the four concepts are true scientifically based on the reference of international text books. Based on the last criterion, it is known that there are three values embedded in the material, namely the value of curiosity, honest value, and the value of discipline.
