Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dan fakta rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa.Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui : 1) Peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan model Quantum Teaching lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajarankonvensional; 2) Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan model Quantum Teaching.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya adalah non-equivalent control group design.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN40 Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sebanyak dua kelas, satu kelas berperan sebagai kelas eksperimen sedangkan kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, angket dan lembar observasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa :1) Peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan model Quantum Teaching lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran konvensional; 2) Respon siswa terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika dengan model quantum teaching tergolong positif. Kata kunci: Model quantum teaching, Kemampuan koneksi matematis, This research is based on the importance of student’s mathematics connection ability and the fact of student’s low mathematics connection ability. The purpose of this research is to find out : 1) The improvement of mathematics connection ability of students who received quantum teaching model was better than those who received conventional learning model; 2)Student’s responce od mathematics learning through quantum teaching model. This research used quasi experiment method with non-equivalent control group design as the experiment design. The population of this research was all grade VIII SMPN 40 Bandung students. The sample used were two classes, one class as the experiment class while the other as the control class. The instruments in the research were mathematics connection ability test, questionaire and observation sheet. The result of the research showed that : 1) The improvement of mathematics connection ability of students who received quantum teaching model was better than those who received conventional learning model; 2) Student’s responce to the implementation of mathematics learning with quantum teaching was considered positive.
