Abstract

Keterampilan sosial pada siswa sekolah dasar sangat penting untuk ditingkatkan. Siswa dituntut untuk mampu mengembangkan keterampilan sosial dalam berinteraksi dengan teman sebaya dan di lingkungan sekitar mereka. Namun demikian kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan masih rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengujicobakan efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalen control group. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasar Kecamatan Pinggir Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi yang instrumennya telah divalidasi. Sementara itu, analisis data menggunakan uji paired and independent t test karena data yang diperoleh normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT signifikan untuk peningkatan keterampilan sosial siswa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT lebih baik jika dibandingkan model pembelajaran konvensional untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa sekolah dasar, Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Sosial, Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe NHT, Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial, Social skills in elementary school students are very important to be improved. Students are required to be able to develop their social skills in interacting with peers and their neighborhood. However, the reality in the field shows the low of social skills of elementary school students. This study aims to test the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of numbered head together (NHT) to improve social skills of primary school students. In addition, this study aims to measure the social skills of students between students who get the learning treatment model of cooperative type of NHT. This research uses quasi experimental method with nonequivalen control group design. Sample of this research is a fourth grades in one of elementary school Pinggir Subdistrict, Bengkalis regency of Riau province. Techniques of collecting data using observations that the instrument has been validated. Meanwhile, data analysis using paired and independent t test because the data obtained is normal. The results showed that NHT type of cooperative learning model is significant for the improvement of social skills of students.
