Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika materi bangun ruang. Hal ini disebabkan karena pendekatan guru dalam pembelajaran masih teacher center, dimana guru lebih mendominasi dalam pembelajaran sehingga siswa cenderung pasif karena dalam mempelajari matematika sebagian besar diperoleh dari guru, siswa tidak diberi kesempatan untuk membangun pengetahuannya sendiri. Faktor penggunaan media sebagai alat penunjang pembelajaran menjadi penyebab siswa tidak memahami konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa tentang bangun ruang melalui pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Subjek penelitiannya siswa kelas V SDN SRM tahun ajaran 2016/2017 sebanyak 30 orang. Proses penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN SRM tentang materi bangun ruang. Selain itu siswa terlibat secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga siswa dapat menemukan konsep matematika secara langsung dan dapat mengaplikasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. ;--- This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in mathematics subjects of geometry. This is because the teacher approach in learning is still teacher center, where the teacher is more dominant in learning so that students tend to passive because in learning mathematics mostly obtained from teacher, student not given opportunity to build its own knowledge. Factors of media use as a means of supporting learning to cause students do not understand the concept. The purpose of this research is to improve student learning outcomes about geometry through Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), models of Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subjects of the study were students of class V SDN SRM academic year 2016/2017 as many as 30 people. The research process is carried out in two cycles. Data collection techniques used are tests and observations. The result showed that the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade student of elementary school SRM about geometry. In addition students are actively involved in the learning process so that students can find the concept of mathematics directly and can apply it in everyday life.
