Abstract

Skripsi “Relief Keramik Ngaos, Mamaos, jeung Maenpo (Tiga Aspek Keparipurnaan Hidup Masyarakat Cianjur” dilatar belakangi upaya pelestarian kebudayaan suatu daerah di Tataran Sunda, yaitu Kabupaten Cianjur, dalam upaya mencegah kemungkinan terburuk hilangnya suatu kebudayaan yang diawali oleh kesadaran masyarakat itu sendiri. Seni keramik sendiri merupakan cabang kriya yang berkaitan erat dengan perkembangan zaman dan teknologi, maka dari itu di dalam skripsi ini penulis akan mendeskripsikan proses dan analisis visual karya. Metode penciptaan karya kriya relief keramik ini didasari oleh ide atau gagasan berkarya dengan mengangkat Ngaos, Mamaos dan Maenpo yang merupakan filosofi dan pilar Kabupaten Cianjur sebagai subject matter dan telah melalui proses kontemplasi, stimulasi, dan pengolahan ide. Dalam pembuatan karya ini penulis membuat relief keramik jenis bas relief dengan teknik butsir. Pembuatan kaya relief keramik ini diawali dengan pembuatan sketsa desain relief, setelah itu melalui tahap pembentukan relief keramik, hingga pembakaran biskuit selesai. Karya I berjudul “Ngaos” dengan ukuran 80cm x 60cm, karya II berjudul “Mamaos” dengan ukuran 60cm x 80cm, karya III berjudul “Maenpo” dengan ukuran 60cm x 80cm. Visual dari ketiga karya ini memiliki kesamaan yaitu warna maupun tekstur alami tanah stoneware dari hasil ekplorasi komposisi tanah, dan perubahan bentuk alami selama pembentukan, pengeringan, hingga pembakaran selesai. Berdasarkan proses pembentukan hingga visual karya dapat diketahui bahwa proses pembuatan relief keramik tidaklah singkat dan harus melalu berbagai tahap, dari pengolahan bahan dasar tanah, pembentukan bodi keramik hingga pembakaran biskuit. Oleh karena itu teknik pembuatan, komposisi bahan, dan bentuk keramik perlu dipertimbangkan dengan matang agar mendapatkan hasil karya yang maksimal. Dalam perkembangan selanjutnya tema maupun konsep harus terus dikembangkan, eklporasi bentuk, bahan, serta warna. Selain itu penggunaan teknik yang berbasis teknologi. Kata Kunci: Kriya keramik, Relief, Cianjur, Stoneware, Ngaos, Mamaos, Maenpo This research paper entitled “Relief Keramik Ngaos, Mamaos, jeung Maenpo (Tiga Aspek Keparipurnaan Hidup Masyarakat Cianjur” is motivated by the effort of Sundanese culture preservation, especially in Cianjur district, which began with the public awareness. The art of ceramics is a branch of craft that closely related to the development of time and technology. For that purpose, in this research paper, the writer will describe the process and an art visual analysis. The methodology of the creation of a ceramic relief was based on the idea of Cianjur district’s philosophy and pillar: Ngaos, Mamaos dan Maenpo as the subject matter and has gone through the processes of contemplation, stimulation and processing the idea. In the making of this art, the writer made a bas ceramic relief with the model object technique. The first step of making the ceramic relief is sketch the relief design, then through the process of creating the ceramic relief until bisque is done. The first artwork entitled “Ngaos” with the size of 80cm x 60cm, the second artwork entitled “Mamaos” with the size of 60cm x 80cm, the third artwork entitled “Maenpo” with the size of 60cm x 80cm. The three artworks have similarities in the colors and the stoneware natural soil textures as the result of the soil composition exploration and the natural form changing, drying until the baking process is done. Based on the process of creating until the art visual, it can be concluded that the process of creating ceramic relief was not a simple process and must go through several steps, from the soil preparation, creating the ceramic relief until the baking process. For those reasons, to make a great artwork, the technique of making, composing the materials and creating the ceramic must be considered. For the next development, theme as well as concept must be developed, exploration, shape, material, and color.
