Abstract

Skripsi ini mengambil judul Menumbuhkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah Melalui Metode Inquiry Training (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas pada Siswa Kelas XI IPS 3di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung). Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah karena selama ini siswa hanya menerima materi dari guru tanpa dilibatkan langsung dalam memperoleh pengetahuan tersebut. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan siswa dapat melatih keterampilan berpikir kritisnya dalam melakukan sebuah latihan penelitian untuk memperoleh sebuah pengetahuan, dengan demikian hasil belajarnya juga ikut meningkat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengacu kepada desain penelitian model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Langkah-langkah penelitian yang digambarkan pada desain tersebut terdiri dari empat langkah yaitu perencanaan (plan), tindakan (act), observasi (observe), dan refleksi (reflect). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, metode Inquiry Training dianggap dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Hal tersebut terlihat dari perolehan skor setiap indikator berpikir kritis yang mengalami peningkatan sepanjang proses penelitian.Adapun indikator-indikator yang ditentukan peneliti untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa adalah mampu melakukan identifikasi terhadap suatu masalah, mampu memberikan tanggapan dengan baik, mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan baik, mampu memberikan kesimpulan dengan baik, dan mampu mengevaluasi kegiatan pembelajaran.Pada empat siklus tindakan yang dilakukan, ada beberapa indikator yang memiliki ketercapaian lebih tinggi dari indikator lainnya. Walaupun demikian, tidak berarti indikator yang memiliki skor rendah dikesampingkan begitu saja karena yang dijadikan ukuran keberhasilan adalah skor keseluruhan yang diperoleh kelompok. Pada akhirnya peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa metode Inquiry Training dapat menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

This research tittled Improoving Student’s Critical Thinking Skills In Learning History Through Inquiry Training Method (Classroom Action Research in Class XI IPS3 SMA Negeri 6 Bandung). Aims of this research is to improoving student’s critical thinking skills in learning history because during the prossess of learning student only receives material from the teacher without directly involved in obtaining such knowledge. So that through this research is expected that students can train their critical thinking skills in conducting a research exercise to acquire a knowledge, thus the study results also increased. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (PTK) with reference to the research design which the models is develoved by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The steps of research described on the design consists of four steps: planning (plan), action (act), observation (observe), and reflection (reflect). Based on research that has been done, the Inquiry Training methods are considered to improov student’s critical thinking skills in the teaching of history. This is evident from the acquisition of critical thinking scores of each indicator that increased throughout the research process. The indicators are determined researchers to measure students' critical thinking skills is being able to identify an issue, is able to respond properly, unable to answer the question properly, is able to give a good conclusion, and be able to evaluate the learning activities. In the four-cycle of action, there are several indicators that have higher achievement than other indicators. However, it does not mean indicators that have low scores dismissed because taken as the measure of success is the overall score obtained by the group. Ultimately the researchers to conclude that the method Inquiry Training can be one of the solution to overcome the problems of lack of student’s critical thinking skills.
