Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Kajian Organologi dambus buatan Zaroti di Kota Pangkal
Pinang Provinsi Kepulaan Bangka Belitung. Fokus kajian dalam penelitian ini yaitu
kriteria pemilihan bahan baku, proses pembuatan alat musik dambus dan hasil
pembuatan alat musik dambus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan informasi
sedalam-dalamnya tentang organologi dambus buatan Zaroti. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian ini
di jalan Air Itam Tengah, Kecamatan Air Itam Kabupaten Bangka Tengah.
Pelaksanaan penelitian lapangannya dilaksanakan pada Juli 2016 hingga Januari
2017. Data yang telah diperoleh dilapangan, selanjutnya dikaji berdasarkan
literatur-literatur yang terkait dengan organologi dan akustik. Hasil penelitian
menjelaskan bahan baku dari kayu jelutung yang bertekstur lurus, berbentuk bulat,
usianya diatas tiga tahun. Untuk pemutar dawai, digunakan kayu gelam serta
penutup depan resonator menggunakan papan tripleks berlapis tiga. Proses
pembuatan meliputi tahap persiapan bahan dan perkakas, penyimpanan dan
pengeringan kayu, serta tahap pembuatan dan tahap finishing (penyempurnaan).
Karakter bunyi yang dihasilkan dambus yaitu nyaring, dan terang.----------This research entitled Study of Organic Dambus made by Zaroti in Pangkal Pinang
City of Bangka Belitung Province. The focus of the study in this study is the selection
criteria of raw materials, the process of making dambus musical instruments and
the production of musical instruments dambus. The purpose of this research is to
get information as deep as possible about Zaroti dambus organism. This research
uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. The location of this research is
at Jalan Air Itam Tengah, Kecamatan Air Itam Kabupaten Bangka Tengah.
Implementation of field research conducted in July 2016 until January 2017. The
data has been obtained in the field, then reviewed based on the literature related to
the organology and acoustics. The results of the study explain the raw materials of
jelutung wood textured straight, round, his age over three years. For the wrist strap,
the wood is used and the front cover resonator using triplex plated board. The
manufacturing process includes the preparation stage of materials and tools,
storage and drying of wood, as well as the stage of manufacture and finishing stage
(refinement). The character of the sound produced dambus is loud, and bright.
