Abstract
Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata
pelajaran ekonomi di kelas XI SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini
adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi perekonomian
terbuka antara kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif teknik
Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dan kelas yang menggunakan
metode ceramah (kelas kontrol). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode
eksperimen dimana siswa kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen diberikan treatment
model pembelajaran kooperatif teknik Cooperatif Integrated Reading and Composition
(CIRC) sedangkan kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran
ceramah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Terdapat perbedaan pemahaman
konsep pada materi perekonomia terbuka sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model
pembelajaran kooperatif teknik Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)
pada kelas eksperimen; 2) Peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada materi perekonomian
terbuka di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif teknik
Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) secara signifikan lebih tinggi
dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran
konvensional.;---The problem in this research is the ability of the student in understanding the concept on
economic subjects in class XI SMAN 3 Cimahi is still weak. The purpose of this research
is to determine differences in the students' understanding of the concept of open economy
between classes that use cooperative learning techniques Cooperative Integrated Reading
and Composition (CIRC) and the classes that use the lecture method (control group). The
method used is an experimental method in which students of class XI IPS 2 as the
experimental class who was given treatment using model of cooperative learning
techniques Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC), while class XI IPS
4 as a control using the lecture method. The results showed that: 1) There is a different
understanding in the concept of open economy before and after using cooperative
learning techniques Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) in the
experimental class; 2) Increased understanding in the concept of open economy in
experiment class using cooperative learning techniques Cooperative Integrated Reading
and Composition (CIRC) is significantly higher than the control class that uses
conventional learning models.
