Abstract

Keberhasilan belajar siswa pada suatu mata pelajaran dapat terlihat dari kemampuan siswa dalam menjawab soal atau tes. Soal atau tes untuk evaluasi keberhasilan belajar mata pelajaran mekanika teknik berupa pertanyaan –pertanyaan seputar teori serta soal-soal yang berupa perhitungan yang telah dibahas. Adapun fenomena yang terjadi dilapangan banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam perhitungan yang bersifat matematis yang terdapat di perhitungan mekanika teknik itu sendiri. Sehingga siswa tidak dapat menyelesaikan perhitungan mekanika teknik secara keseluruhan. Maka dari itu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui penguasaan siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika dan keberhasilan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran mekanika teknik. Selain itu penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar hubungan penguasaan mata pelajaran matematika dengan keberhasilan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran mekanika teknik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa TKBB di SMK Negeri 5 Bandung yang telah menyelesaikan mata pelajaran mekanika teknik pada kelas X. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur penguasaan siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika (variabel X) dan dokumentasi nilai akhir untuk mengukur keberhasilan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran mekanika teknik (variabel Y). Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu gambaran variabel X menunjukan banyak siswa TKBB yang menguasai mata pelajaran matematika. Dan gambaran variabel Y menunjukan banyak siswa TKBB yang berhasil mempelajari mata pelajaran mekanika teknik. Serta hubungan penguasaan mata pelajaran matematika dengan keberhasilan belajar mata pelajaran mekanika teknik siswa TKBB SMK Negeri 5 Bandung menunjukan hubungan tingkat sedang. ;---The success of students in learning a certain subject can be seen from students’ ability in solving the problems through answering the test items during the exam. All the test items provided for the evaluation of Engineering Mechanics are in the forms of questions about theories or calculation problems that had already been discussed. In fact, there are many students who still have difficulties in Mathematical calculation, so they can’t complete the overall Engineering Mechanics calculation. Therefore, this research was done to determine students’ mastery in Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics. In addition, this research also aimed to determine the correlation between mastery of Mathematics and the success of students learning in Engineering Mechanics. The methods used was descriptive method with using quantitative approach. Subjects of this research were students of Stone and Concrete Construction Techniques of SMK Negeri 5 Bandung who had completed Engineering Mechanics lesson at X level class. The instruments of the research were multiple choice tests, for measuring students mastery in Mathematics (as x variable): and the final score results, for measuring the success of students learning in Engineering Mechanics (as y variable). The obtained results of this research were in the x variable had shown that many students were mastering their Mathematics lesson and in the y variable had also shown the success in learning Engineering Mechanics. But the correlation between the mastery of Mathematics lesson and the success of students in learning Engineering Mechanics was just in the level of intermediate.
