Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan kemandirian belajar siswa baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan kategori KAM (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah) sebagai akibat dari pembelajaran Guided-Discovery Learning dengan bantuan media Geometer’s Sketchpad. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan pretes-postes control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa di salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Bandung dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive sampling di kelas VII di Sekolah tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan penalaran matematis, angket skala sikap kemandirian belajar siswa, dan lembar observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan secara kuantitatif. Analisis data tersebut menggunakan uji t, uji non-parametric dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan analisis data, ditemukan bahwa: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode Guided-Discovery Learning secara keseluruhan lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode Guided-Discovery Learning lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan penalaran siswa yang belajar dengan konvensional untuk kategori dengan KAM sedang, sedangkan untuk kategori KAM tinggi dan KAM rendah, peningkatan kemampuan kedua kelas sama. 3) Peningkatan kemandirian belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode Guided-Discovery Learning secara keseluruhan lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. 4) Peningkatan kemandirian belajar siswa yang belajar dengan metode Guided-Discovery Learning sama dengan peningkatan kemandirian belajar siswa yang belajar dengan metode konvensional untuk semua kategori KAM (Tinggi, Sedang, Rendah). ;---The purpose of this study was to examine the increase in mathematical reasoning and self-regulated learning of students as a result oflearning with Guided-Discovery Learning approach using Geometer’s Sketchpad, either in whole or in group of prior mathematics knowledge (high, moderate, and low). This study was a quasi-experimental research design with pretes-postes control group design. The population in this study were all students at one junior high school in Bandung. This study used two classes as a research sample. The research sample were selected by using purposive sampling technique from class VII in that school. The instrument of the research consisted of mathematical reasoning test, self-regulated learning scale, and observation guide sheets. The data were analyzed quantitatively and processed by using the test of the average difference at the 5% significance level. The results showed that: 1) viewed as a whole, mathematical reasoning enhancement of students who apply Guided-Discovery Learning approach using Geometer’s Sketchpad are better than mathematical reasoning enhancement of students who received conventional learning; 2) mathematical reasoning enhancement of students who apply Guided-Discovery Learning approach using Geometer’s Sketchpad are better than mathematical reasoning enhancement of students who received conventional learning in moderateKAM category; 3) The enhancement of self-regulated learning of students who apply Guided-Discovery Learning approach using Geometer’s Sketchpad overall are better than enhancement of self-regulated learning of students who received conventional learning; 4) The enhancement of self-regulated learning of students who apply Guided-Discovery Learning approach using Geometer’s Sketchpad are same with enhancement of self-regulated learning of students who received conventional learning in all of KAM groups (high, moderate, and low).
