Abstract

Studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antara harapan di dalam kurikulum 2013 dengan kenyataan di sekolah. Pembelajaran IPA-fisika belum memberikan pengalaman belajar yang baik kepada siswa. Proses pembelajaran kurang mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains, pemanfaatan peralatan laboratorium IPA yang kurang optimal, dan prestasi belajar siswa pun masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian mengenai penerapan strategi hands-on activities dengan pendekatan ilmiah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan prestasi belajar siswa SMP pada materi getaran dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre experimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Satu kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari 27 siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Cirebon sebagai subjek penelitian. Tes tertulis dan observasi dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data keterampilan proses sains dan prestasi belaja siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi hands-on activities dengan pendekatan ilmiah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan prestasi belajar siswa SMP pada materi getaran dengan nilai rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi (<g>) sebesar 0,53 dan 0,39 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang serta persentase indeks prestasi kelompok (IPK) keterampilan proses sains pada setiap pertemuan masing-masing sebesar 52,50%, 68,62%, dan 73,32% yang termasuk dalam kategori cukup terampil.;---The preliminary study showed the gap between the expectations of the curriculum with the reality. The learning science of physics do not provide a good learning experience to students. The learning process is less developing science process skills, science laboratory equipment utilization is less than optimal, and students’ achievement is still relatively low. Therefore, the research into the implementation of hands-on activities strategy with scientific approach to improving junior high school students’ science process skills and learning achievement in vibration concept was conducted. This research used pre experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. One experimental group consists of 27 students on eight grade in one of the junior high school in Cirebon as research participants. Written tests and observations conducted to collect data students’ science process skills and learning achievement. The results showed that the implementations of hands-on activities strategy with scientific approach can improve students’ science process skills and learning achievement in vibrations, with an average normalized gain respectively by 0,53 and 0,40 in the medium category. And the percentage of group performance index of science process skills each session respectively by 52,50%, 68,62%, and 73,32% in the quite skilled category.
