Abstract
Infeksi virus merupakan penyebab penyakit terbesar yang sering menyerang manusia. Dalam membahas infeksi virus, diperlukan suatu pemahaman terkait konsep yang sesuai serta penalaran yang baik agar diperoleh suatu dasar pengambilan keputusan yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran pengambilan keputusan siswa SMA tentang infeksi virus yang didasarkan pada pemahaman dan kemampuan bernalar yang dimiliki siswa . Penelitian ini penting dilakukan karena masih jarangnya penelitian tentang penalaran serta pengambilan keputusan siswa di Indonesia khususnya tentang infeksi virus yang menyerang manusia. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa SMA kelas XI yang berjumlah 22 orang. Data diperoleh melalui soal uraian terbuka yang mengharuskan siswa menjawab dengan disertakan alasan dan bukti. Kemudian data tersebut diidentifikasi berdasarkan pemahaman konsep, penalaran yang dibedakan atas level argumentasi dan tingkat koherensi, serta dasar pengambilan keputusan yang dipilih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa berada pada kategori benar yang berarti siswa memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang infeksi virus. Penalaran siswa berada pada level 2 (mengandung claim, data, dan atau warrant) untuk aspek tingkat argumentasi dan berada pada kategori kurang koheren untuk aspek tingkat koherensi. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penalaran siswa tentang infeksi virus sudah cukup. Dasar pengambilan keputusan siswa yang dominan muncul termasuk kategori rasionalistik yang berarti keputusan dipilih atas dasar berbagai pertimbangan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengambilan keputusan siswa SMA tentang infeksi virus didasarkan pada pemahaman dan penalaran;--- Virus infection is the cause of most diseases that often attack humans. In discussing the viral infection, required an appropriate comprehension of related concepts and reasoning in order to obtain a good basis for making the right decision. This research is important because of the scarcity of research on students' reasoning and decision making in Indonesia, especially on a subject of viral infection that attacks humans. Research was conducted on high school students of 11th grade, comprising of 22 students. Data obtained through open questions that requires students answers described with reason and evidence is included. Data were identified based on understanding concepts, reasoning that distinguished the level and degree of coherence of arguments, as well as the basis for a decision that is selected. The results showed that the comprehension of the students are on the correct category which showed that the students hve good comprehension regarding the viral infections. Student’s reasoning are at level 2 (containing the claims, data, and or warrants) for aspects of argumentation level and is in the category of less coherently in aspects of the level of coherence. The result represent that student reasoning of virus infection is sufficient. While on the basis of decision making appears that the dominant category which means that rationalistic decisions selected on the basis of various considerations. This reasearch can be concluded that the decision making of high school students about virus infection is based on comprehension and reasoning.
