Abstract

Tuntutan profesi sebagai guru kelas SD mengharuskan calon guru menguasai seluruh bidang ilmu yang akan diajarkan. Pengelompokkan mahasiswa pendidikan guru SD ke dalam konsentrasi IPA, IPS, Matematika dan Bahasa pada tahun ketiga perkuliahan dirasa tidak relevan dengan tuntutan profesi tersebut karena menyebabkan mahasiswa nonsains memiliki keterbatasan penguasaan konsep dan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat mempengaruhi kwalitas pembelajaran IPA yang akan dilaksanakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep, kemampuan merancang dan mengevaluasi rencana pembelajaran serta self efficacy mahasiswa nonsains calon guru SD melalui pelatihan pendalaman materi IPA berbasis blended learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan desain embedded experimental model yang diintegrasikan dengan pendekatan sistemik. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu convenience sample dengan melibatkan sejumlah mahasiswa nonsains calon guru SD yang bersedia ikut dalam program pelatihan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket kebutuhan belajar mahasiswa terhadap materi IPA, tes penguasaan konsep, rubrik penilaian RPP IPA tematik, dan angket self efficacy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa topik yang menurut mahasiswa nonsains perlu dipelajari kembali dan masih rendah dikuasai adalah Anatomi Fisiologi Tubuh Manusia, Anatomi Fisiologi Tumbuhan serta Bumi dan Antariksa. Penguasaan konsep mahasiswa meningkat pada setiap kegiatan dengan skor N-gain yang masuk ke dalam kategori sedang dan berbeda signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah pelatihan. Kemampuan merancang dan mengevaluasi rencana pembelajaran juga meningkat pada setiap kegiatan pelatihan. Self efficacy mahasiswa meningkat pada kategori sedang dan berbeda signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah program. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep berkorelasi dengan kemampuan merancang pembelajaran tapi tidak berkorelasi dengan self efficacy sedangkan kemampuan merancang pembelajaran berkorelasi dengan self efficacy mahasiswa. Terdapat tiga pola hubungan antara aktivitas, penguasaan konsep dan self efficacy mahasiswa yang terdiri dari (1) Aktivitas tinggi, peningkatan penguasaan konsep tinggi dan self efficacy sedang; (2) aktivitas sedang, peningkatan penguasaan konsep bervariasi dari tinggi, sedang maupun fluktuatif dan self efficacy yang sedang; (3) Aktivitas rendah, peningkatan penguasaan konsep bersifat fluktuatif antara sedang dan rendah, dengan self efficacy yang sedang dan rendah pula.;---The Demands of the profession as an elementary classroom teacher requires pre-service teachers to master the entire field of knowledge. The Grouping of primary teacher education students into specific concentration consisting of science, social studies, mathematics and language class in the third year are not relevant to the demands. This is due to the fact that non-science students have limited mastery of concepts and learning strategies that can affect the quality of science teaching. The purpose of this research is to improve the mastery of concept, the ability to design and evaluate lesson plans and self-efficacy of non-science students through deepening science concept blended learning-based training. The method used is a mixed method design with embedded experimental model combined with a systemic approach. The sampling technique used is convenience sample involving a number of students of non science pre-service elementary school teachers who are willing to participate in the training program. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to identified the students’ learning needs towards the science materials, the mastery of concepts test, science lesson plan assessment rubrics, and self efficacy questionnaire. The result shows that there are three science topics that should be studied more by non science students because of low mastery of concept, among others are Anatomy Physiology of Human Body, Anatomy Physiology of Plant, Earth and Space. Students’ mastery of concepts increased in every activity with a score of N-gain entry into the moderate category and significantly different between before and after training. The ability to design and evaluate a lesson plan also increased in every training activities. Self-efficacy of students increased in the moderate category and shows significant differences before and after the program. Correlation test results showed that the mastery of concepts correlated with the ability of designing learning but not correlated with self efficacy. Meanwhile, designing learning ability is correlated with self-efficacy of students. There are three patterns of relationships between activities, concept mastery and self-efficacy of students among others are (1) High activity, mastery of the concept are high and self-efficacy in moderate level; (2) Moderate activity, mastery of concepts vary from high, medium, or volatile and self efficacy are in moderate level; (3) Low activity, mastery of concepts that fluctuated between medium and low, with selfefficacy are in moderate and low level.
