Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the class II B in SDN X Subdistrict Sukasari Bandung in mathematics with arithmetic operations material mixture still many under the KKM. Generally, this study aimed to describe the application of the approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and specifically this study is to describe the planning, implementation, and improvement of student learning outcomes by implementing the approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in mathematics. The design used in this research is the design of classroom action research (PTK) using the model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart ie two cycles. Subjects in this study were class II B in SDN in one of the districts Sukasari Bandung. The results of this study using the approach of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in mathematics showed an increase in student learning outcomes. In the first cycle of students gained grades completeness of 71.43% with a total of 25 students who meet KKM, and the second cycle values obtained mastery of 94.28% with a number of 33 students who meet the KKM. The conclusion after conducting research that the planning and implementation of learning by applying the approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in the learning of mathematics is already performing very well as well as the application of the approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) can improve student learning outcomes. Suggestions in this research is the hope of this study can be used by teachers as an alternative in the classroom and this research could be a referral source for further research.;--- Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa di kelas II B di SDN X Kecamatan Sukasari Bandung pada mata pelajaran matematika dengan materi operasi hitung campuran masih banyak dibawah KKM. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dan secara khusus penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) pada mata pelajaran matematika. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yaitu dua siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas II B di SDN di salah satu kecamatan Sukasari Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dalam pembelajaran matematika menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I diperoleh nilai ketuntasan siswa sebesar 71,43% dengan jumlah 25 siswa yang memenuhi KKM, dan siklus II diperoleh nilai ketuntasan sebesar 94,28% dengan jumlah 33 siswa yang memenuhi KKM. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh setelah melakukan penelitian bahwa perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) pada pembelajaran matematika ini sudah terlaksana dengan sangat baik serta penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) ini dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Saran dalam penelitian ini adalah semoga penelitian ini dapat digunakan guru sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran di kelas dan penelitian ini dapat menjadi sumber rujukan bagi peneliti selanjutnya.
