Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA di salah satu SD Kota Bandung . Hal ini dikarenakan metode yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran masih konvensional yaitu siswa membaca buku, mendengarkan penjelasan guru dan mengerjakan tugas. Untuk mengatasi hal itu, salah satu pendekatan yang dapat diterapkan yaitu pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan CTL yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan menggunakan model spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VD SD S yang berjumlah 29 orang. Pengumpulan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumen lembar kerja siswa dan tes. Data kualitatif diolah melalui 4 langkah yaitu reduksi data, pengelompokkan data, display data dan interpretasi data. Data kuantitatif diolah dengan cara menghitung nilai rata-rata dan presentase ketuntasan. Hasil penelitian dengan penerapan CTL menunjukan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Pada prasiklus nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 55,7 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 24,1%. Sedangkan pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 59,6 dengan presentase ketuntasan 37,9%, pada siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 75 dengan presentase ketuntasan 69% dan pada siklus III nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 83,9 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 89,7%. Dengan demikian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas V dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.;---This research was caused by the low of activities and learning result in science subject at one of elementary school in Bandung City. This is because of the methods that the teacher used is conventional method they are only reading a book, listening to the teacher, and doing assignment. To overcome this, one of learning approaches that can be applied is the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. The aim of this research was to describe applying of CTL which comprehend lesson plan, implementation, and improve students’ learning result. The method used in this research is classroom action research by using spiral model from Kemmis an Mc Taggart. The participants of this research were the students at the fifth grade D SD S that aggregated 29 students. Data collection was collected through observation, students’ worksheet and test. Qualitative data was processed through 4 steps which are data reduction, data grouping, data display and data interpretation. Then, quantitative data was processed by counting average value and the percentage of exhaustiveness. The result of CTL approach showed improvement in every cycles. In pre-cycle, the average value of students was 55,7 with the percentage 24,1%. Meanwhile in cycle I, the average value of students was 59,6 with the percentage 37,9%. In cycle II, the average value was improved into 75 with the percentage 69%. In cycle III, the average value was more improved into 83,9 with the percentage 89,7%. Thus, the researcher concluded that applying of CTL approach in science subject at the fifth grade can improve students’ learning result.
