Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) mengenai penerapan model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi perbandingan dan skala. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SD Kota Bandung. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VB yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi perbandingan dan skala; (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi perbandingan dan skala dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil tes awal siswa pada materi perbandingan dan skala, hal ini terlihat dari hanya 32,25% dari 31 siswa atau sekitar 10 siswa yang nilainya lulus KKM yang telah ditetapkan yaitu 70. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang mengadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart sebanyak dua siklus. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah dari 65,25% menjadi 90,25%. Selain itu, nilai rata-rata kelas juga meningkat dari 66,1 menjadi 90,1. Sementara untuk persentase ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal meningkat dari 51,61% menjadi 96,77%. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi perbandingan dan skala.; This research is a classroom action research (PTK) regarding to the implementation of the model of Problem Based Learning to improve the problem solving ability in material of proportion and scale. This research was conducted in in one of elementary school in the Bandung city. Participants in the research are grade VB totalling 31. This research aims to (1) describe the learning process by using problem based learning model to improve mathematical problem solving ability in material of proportion and scale; (2) describe the increase of the problem solving ability in material of proportion and scale by applying Problem Based Learning model. The implementation of this research was caused by low the test results of students on the material of proportion and scale, it is visible from only 32.25% of 31 students or approximately 10 students whose value passed the KKM has set that is 70. Based on these problems, then do Class Action Research is adapted from the model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart with two cycles. The results of the research done indicates an increase in the average indicator of the ability of problem solving from 65.25% to 90.25%. In addition, the average value of the class also increased from 66.1 became 90.1. As for the classical learning completeness percentage increased from 51.61% to 96,77%. From these results, it can be conclude that the model of problem based learning can enhance the ability of solving problems in material of proportion and scale.
