Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan Laboratorium Virtual pada materi Pemuaian Logam untuk meningkatkan Penguasaan Konsep dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis siswa. Laboratorium Pemuaian Logam dibangun karena tuntutan kebutuhan dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang mampu membangun Penguasaan Konsep dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis yang efektif dan efisien. Perkembangan teknologi komputer saat ini sudah sangat mendukung untuk melaksanakan simulasi praktikum dalam bentuk laboratorium virtual. Langkah pengembangan yang dilakukan meliputi: 1) Studi Pendahuluan berupa analisis konsep, analisis keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta analisis kerja alat; 2) Pengembangan courseware Laboratorium virtual menggunakan flash 8; dan 3) Pengujian berupa penerapan Laboratorium virtual dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Laboratorium virtual yang dihasilkan terdiri dari tiga menu utama, meliputi menu home, menu Praktikum Muschenbroek, dan Praktikum Bimetal. VL-PL yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas sangat baik. Berdasarkan data Penguasaan Konsep, diketahui bahwa 12% siswa mengalami peningkatan Penguasaan Konsep kategori tinggi; 74% siswa mengalami peningkatan Penguasaan Konsep kategori sedang; dan 14% siswa mengalami peningkatan Penguasaan Konsep kategori rendah. Melalui pembelajaran menggunakan Laboratorium virtual, 9 % siswa mengalami peningkatan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis kategori tinggi; 68% kategori sedang sedang; dan 23% kategori rendah. Peningkatan Penguasaan Konsep memiliki korelasi yang positif namun rendah terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis dengan nilai koefisien kontingensi C = 0,49.; The purpose of this study is to develop a Virtual Laboratory on Metal Expansion material to improve the mastery of concepts and students’ Critical Thinking Skills. Metal Expansion laboratory built for the demanding needs of learning science at school which will be able to build Concepts mastery and Critical Thinking Ability of effective and efficient. Nowadays, the development of computer technology is very supportive to carry out a simulation lab in the form of a virtual laboratory. Development measures undertaken, it includes: 1) Preliminary Study in the form of concept analysis, analysing of critical thinking skills, as well as job analysis tools; 2) Development of a virtual laboratory courseware using flash 8; and 3) Testing of the application of virtual laboratories in the classroom. The resulting virtual laboratory consists of three main menus, they are, the home menu, menu Muschenbroek Practicum and Practicum bimetallic. VL-PL has developed very good quality. Based Concept Mastery of data, it revealed that 12% of students has increased Concepts Mastery high category; 74% of students has increased Concepts Mastery medium category; and 14% of students has increased Concepts Mastery lower category. By using the virtual laboratory in learning proses showed that, 9% of students has increased Critical Thinking Skills high category; 68% were medium category; and 23% lower categories. Increased Mastery concept has a positive correlation but low on Critical Thinking Skills with contingency coefficient C = 0.49.
