Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis, khususnya dalam menulis deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Make a Match. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif Make a Match pada pembelajaran deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 6 Garut kelas MIA-4. Sumber data didapatkan dari hasil menulis deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa siswa SMAN 6 Garut yang berjumlah 34 orang. Sedangkan teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar tes dan pasangan lembar soal dan jawaban. Hasil peneliian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pengajaran kooperatif Make a Match, (2) meningkatnya hasil uji gain menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Make a Match, yaitu meningkat dari 58,35% menjadi 76,17% dengan beda 17,82%, dan (3) dari hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh titung > ttabél, yaitu 9,28 > 2,44, hal ini mengindikasikan (Ha) diterima, dan hipotésis nol (H0) ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modél pembelajaran kooperatif Make a Match dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis deskripsi yang mengandung pakeman basa. The aim of this research is to determine the students' skills in writing a description text that contains idiom before and after using Make a Match cooperative learning model. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental method. The model used in this research is Make a Match cooperative learning model in the learning of description text that contains idiom. This research is conducted in MIA-4 class of Senior High School 6 Garut. The data of this research are obtained from the result of descriptive writing that uses idiom from the 34 students of Senior High School 6 Garut. While the technique used in this research is a test technique. The instrument used is test sheets and couples of question and answer sheets. The result of the research indicates that (1) there is a difference in student's ability in writing descriptive text that contains idiom before and after using Make a Match cooperative learning model, (2) the increase of the gain test results indicate that there are significant differences between the abilitiy before and after using Make a Match cooperative learning model, which increased from 58.35% to 76.17% with 17.82% difference, and (3) the hypothesis test result shows that the tcount> ttable is as much as 9.28 > 2.44, indicating that (Ha) is received, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that Make a Match cooperative learning model can be used to improve the ability to write description text that contain idiom.
