Abstract
Penelitian ini berawal dari rendahnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran menulis di sekolah, termasuk dalam menulis cerita moral/fabel di tingkat SMP. Hal itu disebabkan oleh kurang kreatifnya guru dalam penggunaan pendekatan, metode, ataupun teknik pembelajaran.Dengan demikian, peneliti menawarkan teknik copy the master berorientasi silang watak, sebagai teknik alternatif, yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita moral/fabel. Teknik ini dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah, antara lain: 1) siswa membaca atau menyimak cerita moral/fabel yang telah ada; 2) siswa menentukan tokoh dan watak serta amanat yang ada dalam cerita moral/fabel yang telah dibaca atau disimak; 3) siswa menyilangkan watak tokoh yang ada dalam cerita moral/fabel yang telah dibaca atau disimak; 4) siswa membuat kerangka karangan dalam bentuk garis besar elemen yang membangun alur; 5) siswa mengembangkan kerangka karangan sehingga menjadi cerita moral/fabel yang baru. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini meliputi:1) bagaimana kemampuan siswa menulis cerita moral/fabel sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknik copy the master berorientasi silang watak di kelas eksperimen; 2) bagaimana kemampuan siswa menulis cerita moral/fabel sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan teknik copy the master berorientasi silang watak di kelas kontrol; 3) apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa menulis cerita moral/fabel di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Kemudian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hal-hal yang tercantum dalam rumusan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan nonequivalent control group design. Sementara itu, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kersamanah dengan sampel penelitian kelas VIII-F, sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-I, sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil perhitungan uji t terhadap rata-rata skor gain dengan taraf signifikansi (α) = 0.05 dan db = 57 menunjukkan bahwa t hitung > t tabel atau 5.26 > 2.012. Dengan demikian, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari pretest ke posttest dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita moral/fabel antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Artinya, teknik copy the master berorientasi silang watak terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa pada pembelajaran menulis cerita moral/fabel.---------- This research originated from the low interest of students towards learning to write at school, including in writing moral story / fable at junior high school. It is caused by a less creative teachers in the use of approaches, methods, or learning techniques. Therefore, the researcher offer copy the master of cross oriented character tecniques, as alternative techniques, which can be used in learning to write a moral story/fable. This technique is done by steps, among others: 1) students read or listen moral story/fable that already exist; 2) students determine the character and temperament as well as the mandate is in moral story / fable that has been read or listened; 3) students crossed the character of the existing characters in the moral story/fable that has been read or listened; 4) student make a framework in the form outline of plot story; 5) students develop the outline of plot story so that created a new moral story/fable. The formulation of the problem in this reseach include 1) How the student's ability to write moral story/fable before and after learning by using copy the master of cross oriented character tecniques in the experimental class? 2) How is the student's ability to write moral story/fable before and after learning without by using copy the master of cross oriented character tecniques in the control class? 3) Is there a significant difference between the students' ability to write moral story/fable in control class and experimental class? Then, this research aims to describe the things that exist in the formulation of the problem. The method used in this research is a quasi experimental by nonequivalent control group. Meanwhile, the population in this research is class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kersamanah by the sample this research VIII-F class, as an experimental class and VIII-I class, as the control class. Results of calculation t test score average gain with a significance level (α) = 0.05 and db = 57 indicates that tscore> t table or 5.26> 2012.Therefore, there is a significant difference from pretest to posttest in learning to write moral story / fable between experimental class and control class. That is, copy the master of cross oriented character techniques shown to be effective in improving students' ability in learning to write a moral story / fable.
