Abstract

Skripsi berjudul “Analisis Metode Bandongan terhadap Keterampilan Membaca Kitab pada Santri Tingkat Mu’allimin di Pesantren Persatuan Islam no. 1 Bandung”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode bandongan yang digunakan oleh ustadz dan pengaruhnya terhadap keterampilan membaca kitab pada santri. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode bandongan yang digunakan oleh ustadz dikatakan sangat efektif, karena ustadz lebih aktif daripada muridnya, sehingga ilmu yang didapatkan oleh santri benar-benar baru dan langsung dari gurunya yang ahli dibidangnya. Tapi di sisi lain, dalam hal keterampilan membaca, murid hanya menangkap apa yang telah dibacakan oleh ustadz secara pasif. Jadi, metode bandongan ini pada satu sisi memang efektif, tapi dari sisi lain juga dikatakan kurang efektif, khususnya untuk mengetahui ataupun meningkatkan keterampilan membaca. Hal ini dikarenakan ustadzlah yang lebih aktif saat pembelajaran bahtsul kutub ini berlangsung, sedangkan para santrinya hanya menyimak apa yang ustadz bacakan, terjemahkan dan jelaskan. Santrinya juga kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran bahtsul kutub ini. Para santri hanya mencatat apa yang telah dibahas oleh ustadz tanpa mau mengulang kembali apa yang telah dipelajarinya.--------- This paper entitled “Analysis of Bandongan Method towards Reading Book Skill of Mu’allimin Students in Pesantren Persatuan Islam no. 1 Bandung”. This research aimed to analyze the implementation of bandongan method used by ustadz (teacher) and its influence on students’ reading book (kitab) skill. In this study, the researcher used descriptive analysis method along with qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, documentation and triangulation. The result of the study showed that bandongan method used by the teacher was greatly effective since the teacher was more active than his students, so they could acquire new knowledge authentically and immediately from the highly competent teacher. However, in relation to reading skill, the students just passively gained what the teacher read out. Thus, bandongan method could be considered effective on the one side, but ineffective on the other side, particularly in understanding and improving reading skill. This is because the teacher took a more active role during bahtsul kutub learning, while the students just listened to what the teacher read out, translated and explained. Moreover, the students were less active during the learning process. They simply took a note of teacher’s explanation without restudying what they had learned.
