Abstract

Tulisan ini melaporkan sebuah penelitian yang berfokus pada pembelajaran kosakata menggunakan teknik storytelling di salah satu SLB di Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan siswa cerebral palsy dalam kosakata bahasa Inggris sebelum dan setelah treatment, dan untuk mengetahui apakah storytelling akan meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada siswa cerebral palsy secara signifikan. Penelitian ini meggunakan metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain A-B-A pada penelitian subjek tunggal yang melibatkan dua orang partisipan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik storytelling meningkatkan skor siswa secara umum, tetapi enam sesi treatment masih belum bisa membuat tekhnik storytelling meningkatkan kemampuan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa cerebral palsy secara signifikan. ---------- This paper reported on a study concerned with teaching vocabulary using storytelling technique in one of SLBs in Bandung. This study aimed to find out the cerebral palsy students’ ability in English vocabulary before and after the treatment, and to find out whether or not storytelling significantly improved English vocabulary of students with cerebral palsy. This study used an experimental method with single subject research with A-B-A design which involved two participants. This study reveals that the storytelling technique increased the students’ score in general, but six sessions of treatment still could not make the storytelling technique significantly improve cerebral palsy students’ ability in English vocabulary.
