Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar IPA SMP pada tema sampah dalam tubuh menggunakan metode 4STMD (Four Steps Teaching Material Development) dan mengetahui kelayakan serta hasil uji cobanya. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan bahan ajar IPA SMP yang disajikan secara terpadu. Tema yang dipilih dalam pengembangan bahan ajar ini adalah “sampah dalam tubuh”. Tema “sampah dalam tubuh” adalah salah satu tema yang dekat dengan kehidupan siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan atau research and development terbatas. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dan review yang digunakan selama proses pengembangan bahan ajar, angket kelayakan buku yang dikeluarkan oleh BSNP yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kelayakan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan, angket tanggapan siswa terhadap bahan ajar, dan soal tes untuk uji coba bahan ajar terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan suatu bahan ajar IPA terpadu yang telah valid berdasarkan judgment ahli. Kelayakan bahan ajar IPA SMP pada tema sampah dalam tubuh yang dikembangkan adalah 97% dan termasuk kategori sangat baik. Keterpahaman bahan ajar sebesar 84%, termasuk dalam katerogi mudah dan level bahan ajar mandiri (independent level). Hasil uji coba terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar IPA terpadu tema sampah dalam tubuh berada pada kategori cukup dengan capaian rata-rata literasi sains siswa sebesar 68,60% sedangkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar yang biasa digunakan di sekolah sebesar 61,61%. Kata Kunci : bahan ajar, tema sampah dalam tubuh, 4STMD, kelayakan, keterpahaman, literasi sains The aims of this study were to developed an integrated science teaching material on theme “body waste” using 4STMD (Four Steps Teaching Material Development) method and also knowing its feasibility and implementation result of these teaching material. This research were conducted beacuse of the lack of integrated science teaching material on “body waste” theme. Body waste are one of the contextual problems that we have encounter in our daily life. This study are limited reseach and development. Data of this study were collected through judgment and review sheet during development processes, questionnaire of book feasibility from BSNP were used to get the teaching material feasibility, students responses of these teaching material were collected using a questionnaire, and also literacy science test to measure students science literacy ability. The final product of these development processes is an integrated science teaching material that has been validated by an expert judgement. The feasibility of integrated science teaching material on theme “body waste” were about 97% and fall on very good categories. Meanwhile the understanding of these teaching material were about 84%, which falls on easy categories and independent level teaching material. Students literacy science ability after using these teaching material reach 68,60%, meanwhile students literacy science ability that have been used the school’s teaching material were about 61,61%.
