Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan penalaran induktif siswa yang mendapatkan model discovery learning dan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran induktif siswa yang mendapatkan model problem based learning. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran induktif antara siswa yang mendapatkan model discovery learning dan model problem based learning. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Bandung. Digunakan dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Kedua kelas eksperimen masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya kelas kontrol non ekuivalen. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pemberian pretes dan postes kepada kedua kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran induktif antara siswa yang mendapatkan model discovery learning dan model problem based learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan penalaran induktiif siswa yang belajar dengan discovery learning dan problem based learning tergolong sedang. This study was conducted to determine the increase of inductive reasoning ability of students who get a model of discovery learning and improvement of inductive reasoning abilities of students who get a model problem based learning. In addition, this study also aims to determine whether there are differences in improvement of inductive reasoning skills among students who get a model of discovery learning and problem based learning models. The population in this study were all students of class VII in one of the Junior High School in Bandung. Used two classes as the study sample. Both classes each experiment were 30 students. The method used in this study is quasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent control class. Data collection techniques through the provision of pre-test and post-test to both experimental class. Based on the findings and discussions can be concluded that there is no difference between the increase in inductive reasoning skills of students who get a model of discovery learning and problem based learning models. The results showed that the increase induktiif reasoning abilities of students who learn by discovery learning and problem based learning was moderate.
