Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui gambaran penguasaan mahasiswa dalam memahami struktur kalimat pasif bahasa Perancis; 2) mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam memahami kalimat pasif; dan 3) menjelaskan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala mahasiswa dalam memahami materi kalimat pasif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif, dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan kalimat pasif mahasiswa semester IV Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI tahun akademik 2013/2014 dinilai cukup. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil tes dan angket, sebagian besar responden mengalami kesulitan dalam menjawab soal dengan kala beragam dan sering tertukar dalam menggunakan komplemen agentif, setengah dari jumlah responden mengalami kesalahan pada penulisan konjugasi verba, serta sebagian kecil responden kesulitan dalam menyusun kalimat. Untuk mengatasinya, upaya yang dapat dilakukan mahasiswa adalah lebih mengkaji materi dari berbagai sumber dan lebih giat berlatih mengerjakan berbagai jenis soal. Dosen pengajar bahasa Perancis dapat mendukung upaya tersebut dengan memberikan lebih banyak lagi latihan soal dan tugas kepada mahasiswa, serta membahasnya di dalam kelas

This research aims to: 1) describe student mastery in understanding the structure of passive sentences in French; 2) know the constraints faced by students in understanding the passive sentence; and 3) describe the efforts being made to overcome the obstacles of students in understanding the material of passive voice. The method used is descriptive method, and the data is collected by conducting test and questionaires. The results showed that mastery of the fourth semester students of the Department of French Language FPBS UPI academic year 2013/2014 in passive sentences material judged sufficient. Furthermore, based on the results of tests and questionnaires can be concluded that the most of the respondents had difficulty in answering the question with various of tenses and often confused when in use the complement “par” or “de”, half of the respondents experienced an error in writing the verb conjugations, and a few respondents have difficulty in formulating sentences. To solve this problem, students have to more examine the materials from various sources and even harder to practice working on various types of tests. French’s teacher should support it to give more exercises and tasks to the students, and review them in class.
