Abstract
Pengetahuan pemecahan masalah merupakan pengetahuan penting yang perlu dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan akademik dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran resolusi konflik terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 60 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 40 Bandung yang dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang telah diuji untuk mengukur empat aspek pemecahan masalah berdasarkan indikator Polya, yaitu memahami masalah (understanding), merencanakan penyelesaian (planning), menyelesaikan masalah (solving), dan melakukan pengecekan kembali (checking). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model resolusi konflik dan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional (p < 0,05) di seluruh aspek yang diukur. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran resolusi konflik efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa. Implikasi penelitian ini mendorong guru IPS untuk mengintegrasikan model resolusi konflik sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang interaktif, kontekstual, dan berpusat pada siswa. Problem solving skills are essential competencies that students need to address academic and social challenges. This study aims to analyze the effect of the conflict resolution learning model on students’ problem-solving skills in Social Studies (IPS) subjects. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group design. The sample consisted of 60 eighth-grade students from SMPN 40 Bandung selected through random sampling. The research instrument was a problem-solving skills test that had been validated and tested for reliability, measuring four aspects based on Polya’s indicators: understanding the problem (understanding), planning the solution (planning), carrying out the plan (solving), and reviewing the solution (checking). Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results revealed a significant difference in problem-solving skills between students taught using the conflict resolution model and those taught using conventional learning (p < 0.05) across all measured aspects. These findings indicate that implementing the conflict resolution learning model is effective in enhancing students’ problem-solving skills. The study suggests that Social Studies teachers should integrate the conflict resolution model as an interactive, contextual, and student centered learning strategy.
