    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Small Group Discussion (SGD) dalam peningkatan High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar Program Keahlian (DPK) kelas X di SMK ICB Cinta Wisata Bandung. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa disebabkan oleh metode pembelajaran konvensional yang bersifat ceramah atau berpusat pada guru (teacher-centered). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis & McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi observasi, tes hasil belajar berupa Quizizz, angket siswa, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode SGD secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan HOTS siswa dalam menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta, serta partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas terutama pada kerja kelompok. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan metode ini adalah keterlibatan aktif guru, pembagian kelompok yang tepat, serta penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode SGD efektif diterapkan dalam konteks pembelajaran terutama pada kejuruan dan mata pelajaran DPK untuk mendorong keterampilan berpikir Tingkat tinggi siswa. This study aims to determine the application of the Small Group Discussion (SGD) method to improve students' High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the Basic Vocational Program (DPK) subjects of grade 10 at SMK ICB Cinta Wisata Bandung. This research is motivated by students' low critical thinking skills caused by conventional lecture- or teacher-centered learning methods. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis & McTaggart, implemented in two cycles. The instruments used included observation, learning outcome tests in the form of Quizizz, student questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of the SGD method significantly improved students' HOTS skills in analyzing, evaluating, and creating, as well as active student participation in the classroom learning process, especially during group work. Supporting factors for the success of this method are active teacher involvement, appropriate group division, and the use of engaging learning media. These results indicate that the SGD method is effective in learning contexts, especially in vocational and DPK subjects, to encourage students' higher-order thinking skills.
