Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilaterbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi informasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X-K SMAN 1 Cisarua. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran sejarah dengan menerapkan strategi Learning Cycle tipe 5E bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi informasi peserta didik melalui tiga siklus dengan total tiga tindakan, menggunakan desain penelitian Kemmis dan McTaggrat yang mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi informasi peserta didik mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklus penelitian, yang tampak pada perolehan nilai setiap kelompok berdasarkan empat indikator yang telah ditetapkan, yaitu mengidentifikasi dan mencari kebutuhan informasi, mengolah informasi, menyusun kembali informasi, dan menggunakan informasi dengan efektif. Pada siklus pertama, perolehan skor kemampuan literasi informasi siswa mencapai 46,5% dengan kategori cukup.. Kemudian, pada siklus kedua terdapat peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dibanidngkan dengan siklus sebelumnya, dengan memperoleh skor mencapai 73,3% dengan kategori baik . Kemudian, pada siklus ketiga terdapat peningkatan hingga memperoleh skor mencapai 87,5% dengan kategori sangat baik. Sehingga dari keseluruhan siklus penelitian, peserta didik sudah memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi dengan kategori sangat baik. Meskipun demikian, dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan Learning Cycle tipe 5E ini, peneliti masih mengalami beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh peneliti. Namun, kendala tersebut dapat diatasi dengan baik atas kerjasama yang dilakukan antara peneliti dengan mitra-mitra terkait, seperti observer dan guru mitra. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Learning Cycle tipe 5E dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi informasi dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X-K SMAN 1 Cisarua. ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the low information literacy skills of students in history learning in class X-K SMAN 1 Cisarua. The implementation of history learning by applying the 5E Learning Cycle strategy aims to improve students' information literacy skills through three cycles with a total of three actions, using the Kemmis and McTaggrat research design which includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of this study indicate that students' information literacy skills have increased in each research cycle, which is seen in the acquisition of each group's score based on four predetermined indicators, namely identifying and searching for information needs, processing information, reorganizing information, and using information effectively. In the first cycle, the acquisition of students' information literacy skills reached 46.5% with a sufficient category. Then, in the second cycle there was a significant increase compared to the previous cycle, with a score reaching 73.3% with a good category. Then, in the third cycle there was an increase to a score reaching 87.5% with a very good category. So from the entire research cycle, students already have information literacy skills with a very good category. However, in implementing the 5E Learning Cycle, the researcher still encountered several obstacles. However, these obstacles were successfully overcome through collaboration between the researcher and relevant partners, such as observers and partner teachers. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle can improve information literacy skills in history learning in class X-K SMAN 1 Cisarua.
