    Abstract

    Tari adalah bentuk ekspresi manusia yang tak hanya menampilkan keindahan gerak, tetapi juga menyimpan narasi, nilai budaya, dan makna hidup masyarakat pendukungnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji bentuk dan simbol yang terkandung dalam Tari Belibis karya Indrawati Lukman sebuah tari kreasi yang lahir dari perpaduan kekayaan budaya Sunda dengan inspirasi dari ceritera Swanlake. Tari ini tidak sekadar meniru bentuk burung belibis, melainkan menyiratkan pesan tentang kelembutan, kebebasan, dan harmoni antara manusia dan alam. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan pendekatan etnokoreologi, penelitian ini menganalisis unsur gerak, struktur penyajian, tata busana, serta simbol-simbol yang membentuk identitas tari tersebut. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap proses penciptaan tari serta interpretasi makna di balik setiap gerakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam Tari Belibis memiliki pesan terhadap keseimbangan alam dan kearifan lokal, yang merefleksikan nilai-nilai hidup masyarakat Sunda secara simbolik.Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pelestarian seni tari tradisi-kreasi serta menjadi pijakan bagi kajian tari yang lebih mendalam dan lintas budaya di masa depan. ABSTRACT Dance is a form of human expression that not only displays the beauty of movement but also holds narratives, cultural values, and the meaning of life for its supporting community. This study examines the forms and symbols contained in the Belibis Dance by Indrawati Lukman, a creative dance born from a fusion of Sundanese cultural richness and inspiration from the Swanlake story. This dance does not simply imitate the form of the grouse, but also conveys a message of gentleness, freedom, and harmony between humans and nature. Using descriptive qualitative methods and an ethnochoreological approach, this study analyzes the movement elements, presentation structure, costume design, and symbols that shape the dance's identity. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary studies of the dance creation process and interpretation of the meaning behind each movement. The results indicate that the Belibis Dance conveys a message of balance in nature and local wisdom, symbolically reflecting the values of the Sundanese people. This research is expected to contribute to the preservation of traditional and creative dance and serve as a foundation for more in-depth and cross-cultural dance studies in the future.
