    Abstract

    Maraknya kasus penyimpangan sosial, pergaulan bebas, mengakibatkan dampak buruk pada generasi muda, menjadi wawasan bahwa pendidikan karakter perlu ditanamkan pada anak sejak dini melalui kegiatan yang positif. Pendidikan karakter menjadi salah satu fokus utama dalam membentuk generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga kuat dalam moral dan budaya. Dalam konteks pendidikan non-formal, sanggar seni memiliki potensi besar sebagai wadah pembentukan karakter anak dan remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses pendidikan karakter berbasis budaya Sunda yang diterapkan kepada anggota Jawara Squad di sanggar Tari Way Talatah, Subang. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif, penelitian ini menggambarkan pelatihan tari digunakan sebagai media untuk menanamkan lima nilai utama karakter dalam budaya Sunda, yaitu cageur, bageur, bener, pinter dan singer. Nilai-nilai tersebut diintegrasikan dalam proses pembelajaran tari melalui metode imitasi, diskusi dan tutor sebaya.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sanggar Tari Way Talatah tidak hanya berhasil mengembangkan keterampilan tari anggota Jawara Squad, tetapi juga membentuk karakter mereka menjadi pribadi yang disiplin, percaya diri, toleran dan berbudaya. Pendidikan karakter melalui pendekatan budaya Sunda ini terbukti efektif sebagai alternatif pendidikan luar sekolah atau non-formal, dengan sanggar seni berperan sebagai lingkungan belajar yang holistik dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan strategi pendidikan karakter di lingkungan non-formal, khususnya melalui seni tari tradisional yang mengakar pada kearifan lokal budaya Sunda. The rise in cases of social deviation, promiscuity, resulting in negative impacts on the younger generation, has become an insight that character education needs to be instilled in children from an early age through positive activities. Character education is one of the main focuses in forming a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also strong in morals and culture. In the context of non-formal education, art studios have great potential as a forum for character formation for children and adolescents. This study aims to examine the process of Sundanese culture-based character education applied to Jawara Squad members at the Way Talatah Dance Studio, Subang. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, this study describes dance training used as a medium to instill five main character values in Sundanese culture, namely cageur, bageur, bener, pinter and singer. These values are integrated into the dance learning process through imitation, discussion and peer tutoring methods. The results of the study indicate that the Way Talatah Dance Studio has not only succeeded in developing the dance skills of Jawara Squad members, but also shaping their characters into disciplined, confident, tolerant and cultured individuals. Character education through a Sundanese cultural approach has proven effective as an alternative to out-of-school or non-formal education, with art studios serving as holistic and contextual learning environments. This research contributes to the development of character education strategies in non-formal settings, particularly through traditional dance rooted in the local wisdom of Sundanese culture.
