Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang memberikan informasi tentang pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan scientific di Sekolah Indonesia Singapura, yang merupakan salah satu Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri (SILN). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan hasil belajar siswa dengan pendekatan scientific sebagai studi kasus implementasi kurikulum 2013, khususnya pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan komunikasi siswa kelas X di Sekolah Indonesia Singapura. Untuk memudahkan pemaparan, dalam proses analisis pada penelitian ini, siswa dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok (berdasarkan nilai rata-rata), yaitu kelompok atas, tengah, dan bawah. Dari hasil penelitian terhadap sepuluh kali pertemuan diperoleh hasil belajar siswa kelas X beserta perkembangannya secara individu, dan diketahui pula bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan komunikasi siswa sangat beragam. Kelompok atas unggul dalam merencanakan/ menentukan strategi yang efektif dalam pemecahan masalah matematika. Kelompok tengah unggul dalam melakukan pelaksanaan perencanaan. Kelompok bawah memiliki keungulan dalam pengecekan kembali dan sinkronisasi hasil akhir dengan kriteria solusi yang diminta oleh soal. Selain itu, siswa kelompok atas memiliki konsentrasi dan partisipasi penuh dalam mendengarkan dan diskusi, juga baik dalam menyajikan, membaca dan menulis ide matematis. Kelompok tengah memiliki kemampuan yang merata untuk kelima aspek komunikasi. Sementara, kelompok bawah memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik kecuali dalam aspek menulis. This research is an exploration research that provides initial information about mathematics learning process in Singapore Indonesian School (SIS), which is one of Overseas Indonesian School (Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri or SILN). The aim is to uncover the mathematics learning outcome by scientific approach as a case study of implementation of 2013’s Curriculum, especially in mathematical problem solving and communications abilities of tenth grade students in Singapore Indonesian School. This is a qualitative research that describes the data for further analyzing as theories or another research. For simplify the descriptions in analyzing, the students was divided into three groups based on their average scores, those are upper group, middle group and lower group. This research found that the students hold a divergent mathematical problem solving and communications abilities. The upper group is very well on planning and combining strategies that effective to solve mathematical problems. The middle group is very well on doing the strategies carefully. The lower group is very good on rechecking and synchronizing the solution to the problem. Besides that, the upper group students have a deep concern on listening and discussing beside they are also good on presenting, reading and writing mathematical ideas. The ability of middle group has spread evenly in all aspect of communication. And mathematical communication ability of the lower group students is good except in writing.
