Abstract

Berubahnya nilai sosial, budaya, adat istiadat, dan nilai agama di masyarakat sebagai dampak negatif globalisasi harus disikapi oleh dunia pendidikan. Untuk itu IPS sebagai bagian dari proses pendidikan perlu melakukan antisipasi untuk mengimbangi tuntutan tersebut. Namun fenomena yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran IPS saat ini adalahterabaikannya ranah afektif karena tuntutan tingginya nilai akademikpada saat kelulusan menyebabkantidak tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran IPS yang seharusnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji peranan IPS sebagai bagian dari proses pendidikan dalam mengantisipasi tuntutan tersebut karena salah satu tujuan IPS adalah mengembangkan potensi siswa agar peka terhadap masalah sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat. Salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang memiliki potensi untuk memenuhi hal tersebut yaitu penerapan model klarifikasi nilai berbasis jurnal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Cianjur dengan mengambil subjek populasi yaitu siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 249 siswa. Penentuan sampel penelitian diambil berdasarkan homogenitas dan normalitas kelas sehingga didapatkan kelas VIII E sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model klarifikasi nilai berbasis jurnal terhadap proses internalisasi nilai pada siswa SMP Negeri 1 Cianjur. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen kuasi melalui pola nonequivalent (pre test dan post test) control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang diberikan kepada siswa dan wawancara terhadap guru yang melaksanakan pembelajaran pada kelas dimana penelitian ini dilaksanakan. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalahterdapat pengaruh penggunaan model klarifikasi nilai berbasis jurnal terhadap proses internalisasi nilai dimana berdasarkan uji statistik diperoleh hasil nilai t hitung8,732˃t tabel 2,045. Demikian juga jika dilihat dari hasil pre tes dengan post test, diperoleh hasil bahwa nilai post test lebih besar dibandingkan dengan nilai pre test. Rekomendasi penelitian ini ditujukan kepada guru agar memperhatikan pembelajaran IPS yang mengembangkan pembelajaran afektif salah satunya melalui model klarifikasi nilai. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya, penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan rujukan untuk meneliti faktor lain yang belum terungkap dalam penelitian ini. Changes in social, cultural, traditional, and religious values in the society were regarded as the negative impact of globalization. These changes must be addressed by education. Consequently, the Social Studies subject, also known as the Ilmu Pengetahuan Social (IPS) in Indonesian School system, as a part of the educational process is expected to anticipate this demand. As the phenomena recently observed, however, the current practice of teaching and learning social studies tends to neglect the importance of the affective domain. This negligence is driven by the high expectation of students’ academic achievement at the point of graduation. Such an expectation hinders the real objectives in teaching and learning social studies. This study examines the role of social studies as a part of the educational process in anticipating the demand for addressing the changes. In this regard, one of the goals of learning social studies is to develop the potentials of students to be sensitive to the social problems that occur in the society. One of the alternatives of learning that capable to develop student social sensitivity is the implementation of the journal-based values clarification model. Conducted in a state junior high school known as SMP Negeri 1Cianjur, the population in this study is the eighth grade students with the total of 249 participants. The sample of participants for the study was carried out using the homogeneity and normality principle resulting in Class VIII E as the experimental class and Class VIII A as the control. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the journal-based values clarification model has an effect on internalization process of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Cianjur.This study employed the quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent (pre-test and post-test) control group design. Data were collected through the questionnaires given to the students and the interviews with the teachers who conducted the teaching and learning process in the class where this study took place.It was concluded that the journal-based value clarification model resulted in an effect on the value internalization process as supported by the statistical analysis showing that the observed value of tobs= 8.732 is greater than the critical value (2.045). In addition, using the comparison between the pre-test and the post-test, it was obtained that the results of the post-test is greater than that of the pre-test. This study yields two recommendations. Firstly, teachers were encouraged to pay more attention to students’ learning in the social science or IPS through developing affective learning. The value clarification model was an alternative solution for creating this learning. Secondly, for further research, this study can be used as a reference to investigate other factors affecting the internalization process that were not covered in the present study.
