Abstract
Pembelajaran IPS di sekolah sering kali menghadapi kendala berupa kurangnya variasi dalam metode yang digunakan, sehingga berdampak pada minimnya kreativitas peserta didik. Padahal, kreativitas merupakan keterampilan esensial abad ke-21 yang harus dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran inovatif. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan adalah Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis Scratch. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran PjBL berbasis Scratch terhadap kreativitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group design. Responden penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII di MTs Mu’min Ma’shum Kota Tasikmalaya, dengan 23 peserta didik kelas VIIIA sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 22 peserta didik kelas VIIIB sebagai kelompok kontrol. Data dikumpulan melalui angket kreativitas dan dokumentasi aktivitas pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PjBL berbasis Scratch mampu meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik secara signifikan. Uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kreativitas pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan setelah perlakuan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Uji independent sample t-test juga mengungkapkan adanya perbedaan kreativitas antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan nilai t hitung > t tabel (2,065 > 1,714) dan nilai signifikansi < 0,05 (0,045 < 0,05). Rata-rata kreativitas kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, dengan hasil uji N-Gain menunjukkan efektivitas model pembelajaran berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa kurangnya variasi pembelajaran IPS dapat diatasi melalui penerapan model PjBL berbasis Scratch, yang terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kreativitas peserta didik. Social studies learning in schools often faces challenges due to the lack of variation in teaching methods, which impacts students' creativity. Creativity is an essential 21st-century skill that must be developed through innovative learning approaches. One of the models that can be implemented is Project-Based Learning (PjBL) using Scratch. This study aims to analyze the effect of the PjBL model using Scratch on students' creativity in social studies learning. The research utilized a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The respondents were grade VIII students at MTs Mu’min Ma’shum, Tasikmalaya City, with 23 students in class VIIIA as the experimental group and 22 students in class VIIIB as the control group. Data were collected through creativity questionnaires and documentation of learning activities. The results revealed that the application of the PjBL model using Scratch significantly improved students' creativity. The paired sample t-test indicated differences in creativity within the experimental group before and after treatment, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The independent sample t test also revealed differences in creativity between the experimental and control groups, with t-value > t-table (2.065 > 1.714) and a significance value of < 0.05 (0.045 < 0.05). The average creativity score in the experimental group was higher than in the control group, and the N-Gain test results indicated that the effectiveness of the learning model was in the "moderately effective" category. These findings suggest that the lack of variation in social studies teaching can be addressed by implementing the PjBL model using Scratch, which has proven to have a positive impact on enhancing students' creativity.
