    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa di SD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbantuan media Pop-Up Book dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model CTL dibanding siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model Direct Instruction. Jenis penelitian ini quasi experiment, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, dan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 28 siswa kelas V A dan 28 siswa kelas V C SDN Sukasari 05. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model CTL lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dibanding model pembelajaran Direct Instruction. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata pada uji N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,873 yang lebih besar daripada kelas kontrol yaitu 0,7308. Penggunaan model CTL berbantuan media Pop-Up Book meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa sebanyak 67,7%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah diberi pembelajaran dengan model CTL berbantuan media Pop-Up Book. ----- This research is motivated by the low mathematical understanding ability of students in elementary school. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by Pop-Up Book media and the improvement of mathematical understanding ability of students who received learning with the CTL model compared to students who received learning with the Direct Instruction model. This type of research is quasi-experimental, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, and uses a purposive sampling technique. The sample used was 28 students of class V A and 28 students of class V C SDN Sukasari 05. The results showed that the CTL model was better at improving students' mathematical understanding ability than the Direct Instruction learning model. This is evidenced by the average value obtained in the N-Gain test of the experimental class of 0.873 which is greater than the control class, which is 0.7308. The use of the CTL model assisted by Pop-Up Book media increased students' mathematical understanding ability by 67.7%. It can be concluded that students experienced an increase after being given learning with the CTL model assisted by Pop-Up Book media.
