Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris pada siswa kelas VA SDN Soreang 01, khususnya dalam materi Parts of Our Body. Banyak siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengingat, memahami, dan menggunakan kosakata dengan tepat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diterapkan model pembelajaran Circuit Learning yang dipadukan dengan media Canva. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa melalui penerapan model tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 33 siswa kelas VA. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur penguasaan kosakata, serta lembar observasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa dan guru selama proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dari pra-siklus hingga siklus II. Pada pra-siklus, rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 54,09 dengan persentase ketuntasan 21,21%. Setelah siklus I, rata-rata nilai meningkat menjadi 71,66 dengan ketuntasan 48,48%. Aktivitas siswa dan guru juga menunjukkan peningkatan, masing-masing sebesar 73,61% dan 75%. Perbaikan dilakukan pada siklus II, menghasilkan rata-rata nilai 87,12 dan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 90,91%. Aktivitas siswa mencapai 93,06% dan guru mencapai 94,44%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Circuit Learning berbantuan media Canva berhasil dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa sekolah dasar. ----- This study was motivated by the low level of English vocabulary mastery among fifth-grade students at SDN Soreang 01, particularly in the subject matter “Parts of Our Body.” Many students experienced difficulties in remembering, understanding, and using vocabulary appropriately. To address this issue, the Circuit Learning model was implemented in combination with Canva media. The objective of this study is to enhance students' vocabulary mastery through the implementation of this model. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects consisted of 33 students in class VA. Data collection techniques included multiple-choice tests to measure vocabulary mastery and observation sheets to assess student and teacher activities during the learning process. The research results showed a significant improvement from the pre-cycle to cycle II. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 54.09 with a completion rate of 21.21%. After cycle I, the average score increased to 71.66 with a mastery rate of 48.48%. Student and teacher activities also showed an increase, at 73.61% and 75%, respectively. Improvements were made in cycle II, resulting in an average score of 87.12 and a classical mastery rate of 90.91%. Student activity reached 93.06% and teacher activity reached 94.44%. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Circuit Learning model assisted by Canva media was successful in improving elementary school students' English vocabulary mastery.
